Bathrooms are the main wet area in every household. As such, good quality waterproofing is essential to any domestic commercial bathroom construction and/or renovation. With inadequate waterproofing being one of the top 3 building defects in Australian households, it is crucial that all waterproofing, especially bathroom waterproofing complies with Australian Standards (AS 3740-2021)

At the waterproofing shop we advise and instruct customers to use the right products and best methods to ensure our customers comply with Australian standards.

To be in compliance with Australian Waterproofing Standards for internal wet areas (AS 3740-2021), the following criteria must be met:

  • Entire floor within shower area must be waterproofed.
  • Entire bathroom floor must be waterproofed including 100mm upturns from tile level.
  • Hobs and/or step-downs onto bathroom floor must be waterproofed by at least 100mm.
  • Walls inside shower area must be waterproofed.

We recommend the use of the following products for Bathroom Waterproofing:

Primers:

  • ACTFLEX EP 250 Hydro Epoxy
  • Duram WB Primer
  • ACTFLEX 600 Primer
  • ACTFLEX 700 PU

Membranes:

  • ACTFLEX 929 SPU
  • ACTFLEX 906 WPU

Joint Sealers:

  • ACTECH 75FC Joint Sealer
  • MS FAÇADE Joint Sealer
