ACTFLEX 500 NP PRIMER is a solvent-free primer that grips metals, glazed surfaces, glass, rigid plastics, existing tiles and burnished concrete. No acid etching, no solvents. One coat, dry in 30 to 45 minutes, then straight on with your Forspec membrane, adhesive or mortar.
Where to use it
- Under Forspec membrane coatings, adhesives and mortars on non-porous substrates
- Metals: galvanised iron, zincalume, aluminium, stainless steel, copper and coated steel
- Existing tiles and natural stone, precast, tilt-up and glass-reinforced concrete
- Compressed cement sheet, plasterboard, fibre cement flooring, hardwood, marine ply, glass and rigid plastics

Coverage
One coat at 6 to 10 m² per litre neat. 15 L pack: approx. 90 to 150 m². Diluted 1:1 with water for levelling compounds and absorbent substrates: 12 to 20 m² per litre of concentrate.
Not for
Use as a membrane or moisture barrier, rising moisture or negative pressure, a trafficable or exposed finish, or under solvent-based adhesives, coatings or paints (use ACTFLEX SUPERBOND 007 or 700 PU PRIMER). Sand PVC and aluminium and do a trial area. Over tiles in wet areas, overcoat with an under-tile membrane. Dry substrates only.

- Hardwood, dense timber, marine plywood and timber sheet surfaces
- Glass and rigid plastic surfaces (sanded or abraded first; mandatory on PVC, trial area required)

Not a waterproofing membrane and not a moisture barrier. Not suitable for areas subject to rising moisture or negative hydrostatic pressure, and not designed for use as a trafficable or exposed surface finish. Not appropriate where solvent-based adhesives, coatings or paints will be applied directly over the primed surface - specify ACTFLEX SUPERBOND 007 or ACTFLEX 700 PU PRIMER for solvent-based systems. Adhesion to PVC and aluminium may be limited; sanding may be required and a trial area is mandatory. Do not dilute other than the approved 1:1 water dilution for floor levelling compounds and highly absorbent substrates. When tiling over existing tiles in internal or external wet areas it must be overcoated with a suitable under-tile membrane system. Do not apply over damp substrates, water residue or persistent dampness, and ensure the primer is fully dry before applying subsequent membranes, coatings or adhesives.

Where is ACTFLEX 500 NP used?
Compatibility500 NP is the adhesion-promoting primer for dense, smooth, and non-porous substrates - metals, glass, glazed tiles, PVC, and existing coatings. Used where standard primers can't bite into the substrate surface.

Coverage and cure?
PerformanceCoverage is 6-10 m² per litre depending on substrate porosity. Touch-dry and ready for membrane in 30-45 minutes at 23°C/50% RH. The fast cure makes it productive for retrofit work over existing surfaces.

What's the application thickness?
InstallationApply at 0.2mm DFT in a single thin coat. Ready-to-use - no mixing required. The blue colour provides visual verification that all surfaces have been primed before membrane application.
