How to Use

Stir before use, then spread by brush or long nap roller at a rate of at least 6m2 to 10m2 per litre over the entire surface to be primedConfirm the surface to be primed is clean, sound and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds, release agents and degraded or unsuitable old surface coatings
Mechanically sand metal and plastic surfaces to roughen them and increase bond strength
Remove all loose debris and dust prior to application
Ensure all surfaces are dry, with no water residue or permanent dampness
Stir the product before use
For floor levelling compounds and highly absorbent substrates dilute 1:1 by volume with water, excluding ARDEX K 60 and ARDEX K 65
Spread by brush or long nap roller at a rate of at least 6m2 to 10m2 per litre over the entire surface to be primed
Allow approximately 20 minutes drying at 23C and 50% RH, longer at lower temperatures or high relative humidity
Confirm the primer is fully dry before applying subsequent ARDEX products
Do not return excess primer to the original packaging; replace the lid tightly after use

Technical overview

ARDEX P 9 Single Part Primer is a water-based, low VOC, solvent free primer used to improve the adhesion of selected ARDEX tile adhesives, floor levelling compounds and undertile waterproofing membranes to smooth, dense and non-porous substrates, internally and externally. It is applied by brush or long nap roller at 6m2 to 10m2 per litre and dries in about 20 minutes at 23C and 50% RH. It is compatible with all ARDEX water-based waterproofing membranes and is not compatible with ARDEX solvent-based membranes. No Australian Standard prescribes performance requirements for a primer of this type and no accredited test certificate is published for it. The values ARDEX publishes are nominal characteristic figures.

All surfaces must be dry before application, with no water residue or permanent dampness. Do not place excess primer back into the original packaging. Store away from direct sunlight and replace the lid tightly after use. Hazardous chemical: may cause cancer, may cause an allergic skin reaction, causes eye irritation and may cause respiratory irritation. Do not breathe mist, vapours or spray and wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection.
