How to Use

Stir before use and apply a minimum two coats by brush or roller at 0.5mm wet film thickness per coatRemove all dirt, dust, curing compounds, oils, grease, surface sealers, existing coatings and other contaminants by mechanical methods and vacuum cleaning
Leave the surface sound, clean, dry and free from sharp edges and loose material
Treat damaged concrete between 2mm and 30mm with ARDEX A 46, and spalling concrete with the ARDEX Concrete Repair range such as ARDEX BR 345
Pre-treat static cracks under 2.0mm wide with ARDEX primer in the crack and 200mm each side, then two coats of ARDEX WPM 155 Rapid Plus
Prime the prepared substrate with ARDEX WPM 300, ARDEX WPM 265 or ARDEX Multiprime; use ARDEX P9 Single Part Primer on non-porous substrates
Where substrate moisture is above 80% relative humidity (ASTM F2170) or 15g/m2/24hrs (ASTM F1869), nominate a minimum two coats of ARDEX WPM 300 HydrEpoxy as the primer
Detail drains, penetrations, floor/wall junctions, wall/wall junctions, joints and changes of substrate with ARDEX STB/STA Tape, overlapped 50mm minimum end to end
Roller the tape with the ARDEX Brass Roller and ARDEX Small Hand Roller so adhesion is uniform and all edges are removed
Stir the contents before use
Apply the first coat by brush or roller at 0.5mm wet film thickness
Recoat after 1 to 2 hours at 23C and 50% RH, applying the second coat at 90 degrees to the first
Build a total dry film thickness of 0.5mm over the two coats
Allow to dry; areas over ARDEX STB Tape or ARDEX Sealant dry slowest and must be completely dry before tiling or screeding
Inspect the membrane before flood testing and apply an additional coat where damage, imperfections or pinholes are present
Flood test from 72 hours after the final coat at 23C and 50% RH
Tile or screed from 3 to 4 hours after the final coat at 23C and 50% RH
Clean all equipment with water and detergent before the product dries

Technical overview

ARDEX WPM 155 Rapid Plus is a modified polyurethane hybrid waterproofing membrane for undertile and under screed use, internal and external. It is stirred before use and applied by brush or roller in a minimum two coats at 0.5mm wet film per coat, giving a total dry film thickness of 0.5mm. The TDS states it is compliant to AS4858 and AS4654. Elongation is independently classified Class III under AS/NZS 4858:2004 by XTecGen Laboratories, accredited for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 (Report 560-2). VOC content is 72 g/L, tested by a NATA accredited laboratory, and meets the Green Building Council of Australia Green Star limit of 250 g/L.

Do not apply if ambient or substrate temperature is below 10C or above 35C. Not to be used in permanently submerged environments such as swimming pools and spas. Do not add solvent or water to the product. Do not apply if rain is imminent. Must not be left exposed for longer than 5 days before recoating, direct tiling or direct screeding. Not designed as a stand alone UV exposed and / or permanent trafficable membrane. Immersed areas such as showers must not be used until the membrane has reached full cure after 72 hours at 23C and 50% RH. This product may cause an allergic skin reaction and causes serious eye irritation; wear protective gloves, clothing, face and eye protection and ensure adequate ventilation.
