How to Use

Stir well and apply an even coat with a low nap roller or long bristle brush, minimum 1 litre/12m2 on smooth non-porous surfacesConfirm all substrates are structurally sound, smooth, stable, dry and clean
Even or fill rough surfaces and voids first and point all brick and block surfaces flush
Repair all general surface defects
Remove sharp protruding objects, loose material, de-bonded coatings, curing membranes and agents, release agents, wax residues, foreign particles, laitance, algae and moss, grime, oils, animal fats and grease remains
Mechanically remove structurally unsound layers and surface contaminants by abrasive blasting, blast tracking, grinding or equivalent methods
Test adhesion of the products to be used over a typical area of the prepared surface and accept the substrate before any application starts
Stir the product well before using
Apply the product using a low nap roller or long bristle brush, ensuring coverage is even to the surface being treated
On smooth non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass reinforced concrete and glazed tiles, apply a minimum of 1 litre/12m2

Technical overview

Gripset Xpress SP is a solvent free primer developed with adhesion enhancing properties for non-porous, dense and smooth substrates, and it is also suitable for porous surfaces. It is designed for use on both wall and floor surfaces and achieves high adhesion without the need for etching or using solvents. It is intended for the application of Gripset self-adhesive sheet and liquid membrane systems, to enable the bond to difficult substrates such as metals, glazed tiles, natural stone and rigid plastics. Drying time is 30 mins at 23C and 50% RH. The Gripset data sheet cites no Australian Standard and no accredited test certificate; the published adhesion figures carry no test method or report number, and the only standard quoted is ISO 13741-1 for VOC content. System compliance is carried by the Gripset membrane applied over it.
