A temporary solution only - it fixes the leak for up to 5 years, it is not a waterproofing membrane and is never specified as one, and no product or performance warranty is offered. It does not fix broken, popping or loose tiles or loose grout; every defective tile and grout line is rectified first and all cracks repaired with ACTFLEX MS PRO or Soudal T-Rex before application. Never apply to a damp surface - substrate moisture must be below 4% and the surface completely dry, and never apply over water trapped beneath the tiles until the substrate has been aerated 3-5 days and confirmed dry. Do not apply below 10C surface temperature. Apply all coats within 48 hours of each other. No rain, washing or standing water on the surface for at least 3-5 days after the final coat. The film may turn cloudy white where water ponds or sits and some yellowing may occur within the service life. Not slip-resistant as supplied - broadcast ACTFLEX ANTISLIP to the designed slip rating. Complete an adhesion trial area on every substrate before full application. Classified a Hazardous Chemical and Dangerous Goods - causes skin and serious eye irritation, may cause respiratory irritation, and is toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Why apply over existing tiles?

What prep is required?
InstallationCritical: clean the existing tiles thoroughly with detergent and a degreaser, remove all mould (treat with bleach if needed), regrout failing joints with epoxy grout, and let everything dry. Then apply 400 Clear per the supplied instructions.

Will it work on natural stone or coloured tiles?
CompatibilityACTFLEX 400 Clear is genuinely clear once cured, preserving the appearance of underlying tiles. On porous natural stones, test a small area first - some stones may darken slightly under the clear coating.

Is the repaired surface AS-compliant?
ComplianceACTFLEX 400 Clear is a remedial system - it extends the service life of a previously waterproofed (and now leaking) surface. For new-build wet area waterproofing, AS3740:2021 specifies an under-tile membrane like ACTFLEX 906 WPU.
