ACTFLEX 400 CLEAR is a clear, single-pack co-polymer emulsion with synthetic rubber latex, developed as a temporary leak-stopping solution for tiled areas. Applied directly over existing tiles, it forms a tough, flexible, UV-resistant waterproof barrier without the need for tile removal. Semi-gloss transparent finish providing up to five years of protection.

    The kit contains the full ACTFLEX 400 Clear over-tile waterproofing system: clear-finish membrane, application tools (brush, roller), reinforcement tape for problem areas, and step-by-step instructions for over-tile remedial waterproofing.

  • Why apply over existing tiles?
    Performance

    Demolishing and retiling a leaking bathroom or balcony is expensive and disruptive. ACTFLEX 400 Clear bonds to clean existing tiles and creates a clear waterproofing layer that preserves the original look while stopping leaks for up to 5 years.

  • What prep is required?
    Installation

    Critical: clean the existing tiles thoroughly with detergent and a degreaser, remove all mould (treat with bleach if needed), regrout failing joints with epoxy grout, and let everything dry. Then apply 400 Clear per the supplied instructions.

  • Will it work on natural stone or coloured tiles?
    Compatibility

    ACTFLEX 400 Clear is genuinely clear once cured, preserving the appearance of underlying tiles. On porous natural stones, test a small area first - some stones may darken slightly under the clear coating.

  • Is the repaired surface AS-compliant?
    Compliance

    ACTFLEX 400 Clear is a remedial system - it extends the service life of a previously waterproofed (and now leaking) surface. For new-build wet area waterproofing, AS3740:2021 specifies an under-tile membrane like ACTFLEX 906 WPU.
