How to Use

Thoroughly stir the contents and apply one continuous and uniform coat by brush; apply a second coat once the first has fully dried only where a continuous and uniform coat has not been achievedCompletely expose any corroded steel in the repair area
Break out at least 20mm minimum behind all exposed reinforcing steel
Remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits
Clean all reinforcing steel to a bright condition by grit blasting or abrasive power tools, with particular attention to the back of exposed steel bars
High pressure wash immediately after the scale and corrosion is removed
Allow the prepared reinforcing steel to become completely dry before priming
Confirm ambient and substrate temperatures are between 5C and 35C, and never apply at 5C and falling
Thoroughly stir the contents of the tin, and do not thin with any additive
Apply one continuous and uniform coat by brush at 120 microns wet, giving 50 microns dry film thickness
Where a continuous and uniform coat has not been achieved, allow the first coat to fully dry and apply a second coat
Allow the coat to become fully dry, 50 minutes to 1 hour at 20C or 20 to 45 minutes at 35C
Apply the ARDEX Concrete Repair product once the primer is fully dry and do not leave the primed steel exposed for an extended period
Clean all tools and equipment with solvent based cleaners immediately after use

Surface suitability

Do not apply in ambient or substrate temperatures 5C and falling, or extreme hot temperatures. Application ambient or substrate temperatures between 5C and 35C. Do not thin product with any additive. The product must be thoroughly stirred before each use. The prepared reinforcing steel must be completely dry prior to application, and once dry the primer must be applied immediately to eliminate possible surface contamination. The primed reinforcing steel should not be left exposed for an extended period; apply the ARDEX Concrete Repair product once the primer is fully dry. Hazardous chemical and dangerous goods, Poisons Schedule S5, flammable liquid with a flash point above 23C. May cause irritation and an allergic reaction to the skin, serious eye injury and irritation to the respiratory system. Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection and ensure adequate ventilation during application.
