How to Use

Apply two coats with a nap or textured roller at 0.3mm minimum WFT per coat as a facade coating, or 1.0mm minimum WFT per coat as a waterproofing membraneRemove all dirt, dust, curing compounds, oils, grease, surface sealers and other contaminants by mechanical methods and vacuum cleaning
Leave the surface sound, clean and free from sharp edges and loose material
Treat damaged concrete between 2mm and 30mm with ARDEX A46, and spalling concrete with the ARDEX Concrete Repair range such as ARDEX BR 345
Pre-treat static cracks under 1.0mm wide with ARDEX primer in the crack and 200mm each side, then two coats of ARDEX WPM 310
Grind out static cracks over 1.0mm wide to 6mm wide by 6mm deep, fit backer rod or bond breaker tape, seal with ARDEX RA 050 or ARDEX CA 20 P PLUS and tool flush
Prepare movement joints and seal with ARDEX RA 050 or ARDEX CA 20 P PLUS over backer rod or bond breaker tape, avoiding three sided adhesion
Where substrate moisture is above 80% relative humidity (ASTM F2170) or 15g/m2/24hrs (ASTM F1869), apply two coats of ARDEX WPM 300 HydrEpoxy
Prime porous substrates with ARDEX WPM 270 by brush and or roller at 6.0m2/L and allow to fully dry, generally 30 minutes at 23C and 50% RH
Overcoat the ARDEX WPM 270 within 24 hours of application to avoid intercoat contamination
Confirm new render has fully cured before priming, and that existing render is sound and free from delamination
Prepare a sample of the finish for approval before starting work and use it as the standard
Apply the first coat with a nap or textured roller, maintaining a wet edge and avoiding the warmest time of the day
Allow the first coat to become hard dry, generally 4 hours at 23C and 50% RH for the 0.3mm facade build or 4 to 6 hours for the 1.0mm membrane build
Apply the second coat to the same film thickness, working on the down stroke to reduce dirt pick-up on textured finishes
Allow 7 days for full cure

Technical overview

ARDEX WPM 310 is a tough, UV stable, water based liquid applied external coating and membrane, roller applied in two coats. At a total dry film thickness of 0.3mm the film is classified as semi-permeable and suits a decorative protective facade coating; at a total dry film thickness of 1.0mm it is suitable for horizontal applications requiring a waterproofing membrane. The TDS states it is compliant to AS4654. It has been independently evaluated to AS 4654.1-2012 by XTec Gen Laboratories, accredited for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 (Report 312-2), returning Class II elongation, a pass for cyclic movement, UV exposure and immersion durability, and abrasion resistance that meets the requirement for pedestrian traffic only.

Polyurethane based sealants must never be used under any circumstance with ARDEX WPM 310 as they can bleed plasticisers into the coating. Not suitable for areas subject to medium to heavy foot traffic, light maintenance foot traffic only. Not for use where solvent or petroleum based products could be spilled, when rain appears imminent or within 24 to 48 hours after application, or on damp surfaces that have not been primed with ARDEX WPM 300 HydrEpoxy. Do not apply where both the surface temperature and air temperature is below 10C or greater than 35C. Do not attempt to thin the product with water. This product may cause irritation to the skin, may cause serious eye injury and irritation to the respiratory system - wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection and ensure adequate ventilation.
