Calloni

Calloni is a gas torch brand supplied to the Australian waterproofing trade for torch-on membrane work. What is stocked here is tooling rather than chemicals: the Profy Plus Titanium gas torch kit with a 50mm head. It suits installers who are already running bitumen sheet systems and need reliable heat gear to apply them.

Torch-on bitumen sheet is bonded by melting the underside of the roll and the lap seam so the bitumen fuses to the substrate and to itself. A roofing torch is the tool that delivers that heat evenly across the sheet as it is unrolled. The same torch is then used to seal laps, upturns and terminations as the membrane goes down.

The 50mm head is sized for running full rolls across open areas, and it will handle laps, upturns and terminations once you have the technique for controlling the flame in tighter spots. Crews doing a lot of corners, penetrations and flashing bands often keep a narrower detail torch alongside it and swap between them as the job changes.
