STAIN-PROOF Premium Impregnating Sealer by Dry-Treat
Class 5 stain protection for stone, tile, brick and concrete. Keeps the natural look.
STAIN-PROOF Premium Impregnating Sealer, previously sold as STAIN-PROOF Original, is a permanent-bonding impregnating sealer for stone, tile, brick, concrete and grout. It is tested Class 5, the highest class, for stain resistance under ISO 10545-14. It retains the surface's natural colour and finish, and keeps building repellence as it bonds into the pores over 3 to 4 weeks.
Where to use it
- Building facades, floors, walls, countertops, showers, pool surrounds, patios, garages, kitchens and entertaining areas
- Granite, marble, sandstone and concrete, plus dozens of other stone and tile surfaces
- New tile installations, applied before grouting and again once the grout dries
- Grout lines
- Limestone, sandstone and travertine in a freeze-thaw or salt water environment need STAIN-PROOF 40SK Consolidator and Water Repellent first
Why waterproofers buy it
- Class 5, the highest class, tested to ISO 10545-14
- Retains natural surface colour and finish
- Super breathable, water vapour escapes freely so moisture does not build up inside the material
- Penetration reaches 8 to 13mm into Kashmir white granite after 3 weeks cure
- Applied by low-pressure hand sprayer or microfibre applicator
- 15 year written performance warranty when applied by a Stain-Proof Accredited Applicator
Coverage
One litre covers 2 to 25 m², depending on surface absorption. As a guide: smooth poured concrete about 7 m²/L, granite honed about 8 m²/L, marble honed about 10 m²/L, hard sandstone about 7 m²/L. Grout lines run about 305 linear metres per litre. Packs: .95L, 3.79L and 18.92L.
Not for
Will not prevent surface etching, scuff marks or wear, and may lighten or darken some surfaces. Spraying is not recommended on polished surfaces. Do not thin.

Technical overview
Key applications
- Building facades
- Floors
- Walls
- Countertops
- Showers
- Swimming pool surrounds
- Patios
- Garages
- Kitchens
- Entertaining areas
Surface suitability
- All surfaces (must be dry, clean and free of residues; surface temperature 5-35C)
- Polished and dense surfaces such as polished granite and polished marble (wipe on with a lamb's wool applicator or cloth, spraying is not recommended)
- Highly porous surfaces such as sandstone and soft varieties of limestone (pre-seal with a light spray at least 8 hours before the 2 main coats)
- Limestone, sandstone and travertine in a freeze-thaw or salt water environment (need extra protection, use 40SK Consolidator and Water Repellent)
- New tile installations (first coat before grouting, grout 24 hours later, second coat after the grout dries)
- Grout lines (approximately 305 linear meters per litre)
- Vertical surfaces (4 light coats wet on wet, approximately 10 minutes between coats, instead of 2 generous coats)
The sealer will NOT prevent surface etching, scuff marks or wear and may lighten or darken some surfaces - test on a small, inconspicuous area first and allow a 24-hour cure time. Spills should be cleaned up immediately to minimise absorption. Apply only when surface temperature is between 5C and 35C, onto a surface that is dry, clean and free of residues, and avoid moisture contact with the surface for six hours after application. Do not thin the product. Spraying is not recommended for polished surfaces. Softer materials including limestone, sandstone and travertine in a freeze-thaw or salt water environment need extra protection - use 40SK Consolidator and Water Repellent. DANGER: highly flammable liquid or vapour, harmful if inhaled, causes skin irritation, causes serious eye irritation, may damage fertility or the unborn child, suspected of causing genetic defects, causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure, harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Shipped as UN 1993 Flammable Liquid n.o.s. (contains ethanol), Class 3, PG II.

Why trade professionals choose Stain Proof
Stain Proof, also sold under the Dry Treat name, is a stone and masonry protection range built around impregnating sealers that soak into the surface instead of forming a film over it. The line covers solvent carried and waterborne sealers for natural stone, porcelain, quartz, pavers, concrete and grout, plus colour enhancing options and the acid, alkaline and daily cleaners used to prepare and maintain sealed surfaces. Supplied to the Australian trade through The Waterproofing Shop, including seal, clean and maintain packs that cover a whole job in one order.
