The range we stock covers the on-site consumables waterproofers reach for every day: a snap blade knife for clean cutting and trimming, and Green Envo Tape for masking edges and terminations. Small items, but they are usually what separates a sharp, tidy detail from a messy one.

iQuip FAQs

Common questions about the iQuip range.

Still have questions?

Talk to our team for advice on the right iQuip product for your job.

What does iQuip make?

iQuip is a tool and accessory brand supplied to the Australian trade, focused on the paint, render and surface finishing sectors. The range is site consumables and hand tools rather than coatings, membranes or sealants. We stock the iQuip lines that cross over into waterproofing work, where cutting and masking quality directly affects the finish.

What is iQuip Green Envo Tape used for on a waterproofing job?

It is a painter's style masking tape used to mask off edges, terminations and adjacent surfaces so a coating stops in a straight line. On waterproofing work that usually means masking skirtings, door frames, tile edges or the top line of an upturn before a liquid membrane, primer or sealer goes down. Check the product listing for recommended surfaces before masking anything delicate or newly finished.

Can Green Envo Tape be left on outside in the sun?

It is built with UV resistance for outdoor as well as indoor masking, so it holds up better than a basic crepe masking tape on exposed external work. No masking tape should be left in place indefinitely though, and hot elevations in direct sun will always shorten how long a tape behaves itself. For the manufacturer's stated exposure window, refer to the technical data sheet rather than guessing on site.

Will masking tape lift a fresh membrane or leave residue behind?

That is the real risk with any tape used on waterproofing work, either tearing a green membrane on removal or leaving adhesive on a finished surface. Envo Tape uses a medium tack acrylic adhesive designed to release cleanly rather than grab and tear, but performance still depends on the substrate, surface temperature and how long the tape has been sitting there. Always trial a short length in an inconspicuous spot first, particularly over freshly coated or previously painted surfaces.

What is the iQuip Snap Blade Knife used for?

It is a general purpose site knife with a snap-off blade, handy for trimming bond breakers, cutting reinforcing fabric and tape, scoring sheet materials and opening bags. The snap-off design means you break back to a fresh edge instead of persevering with a blunt one, which matters when you are cutting matting or sheet membrane cleanly. Keep spare blades in the ute so nobody is tempted to finish a cut with a dull edge.

Are iQuip products part of the waterproofing system itself?

No. These are application and site tools, so they do not form part of the waterproof layer and carry no role in the performance of the finished system. In Australia, compliance for wet area and external waterproofing sits with the membrane system specified and the way it is installed, under standards such as AS 3740 and AS 4654. Use the iQuip tools to get a cleaner, more controlled application of whichever system the job calls for.

Where can I buy iQuip products in Australia?

The two iQuip items we carry, the Green Envo Tape and the Snap Blade Knife, can be ordered directly from this collection page and shipped Australia wide. Because they are consumables rather than a full system, most trade buyers add them to a membrane, primer or sealant order rather than buying them on their own. If you need an iQuip size or product that is not listed here, get in touch with the team and we can check on availability.
