The primer for ACTFLEX 75FC and 929 SL. One thin coat, tack free in 3 to 5 minutes.

ACTFLEX SUPERBOND 007 is a solvent-based, moisture-reactive polyurethane primer. It is the specified adhesion promoter ahead of ACTFLEX 75FC joint sealant and the ACTFLEX 929 SL membrane. One thin coat by brush, and you can overcoat in 10 to 15 minutes.

Where to use it

  • Ahead of ACTFLEX 75FC polyurethane joint sealant
  • Ahead of the ACTFLEX 929 SL solvent-based membrane system
  • GRP, epoxy resin, PVC and ABS before solvent PU. Patch test first
  • Concrete, stone, fibre-reinforced floor slab, magnesium and glass magnesium floor slab, and timber

Why waterproofers buy it

  • Tack free in 3 to 5 minutes, fully dry in 10 to 15 minutes
  • Open time up to 2 hours before overcoating
  • One coat only. Extra coats do not improve adhesion
  • Moisture reactive. Forms a chemical bonding layer, not a surface film
  • Clear to slightly yellow, does not read through light finishes
  • Brush, felt or foam applicator. 1000 mL container
  • 10 year Forspec product warranty

Coverage

1 L covers approximately 4 to 12 m²: 8 to 12 m²/L on dense substrates, 4 to 8 m²/L on porous.
Joint priming: 80 to 130 linear metres per litre on a 15 mm joint, both flanks.

Not for

Hybrid and MS systems such as ACTFLEX 906 WPU and MS PRO (use SUPERPRIME 008). Not a membrane or moisture barrier. Not below 5°C or above 35°C. Do not dilute. Combustible, keep away from ignition sources. Professional use only.

All times at 25°C and 50% RH.

Tack-free in 3-5 minutes, fully dry and ready to overcoat in 10-15 minutes

Technical overview

ACTFLEX SuperBond 007 is a solvent-based, moisture-reactive polyurethane primer that reacts with atmospheric moisture to form a thin chemically active bonding layer between the substrate and the solvent-based product that follows. It is the adhesion promoter of the solvent-based FORSPEC range, specified ahead of ACTFLEX 75FC joint sealant and the ACTFLEX 929 SL membrane system, and it bonds substrates where mechanical key alone is insufficient: GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS, concrete, stone, magnesium and glass magnesium floor slab and timber. It is applied once by brush, felt or foam applicator. No accredited certificate is currently held on file for ACTFLEX SUPERBOND 007 and all performance values are published as typical R&D characteristic values.

Key applications

  • Adhesion promotion ahead of ACTFLEX 75FC polyurethane joint sealant
  • Adhesion promotion ahead of the ACTFLEX 929 SL solvent-based membrane system
  • Priming ahead of one-component solvent-based polyurethane sealants and adhesives generally
  • Priming GRP, epoxy resin surfaces, PVC and ABS before solvent PU application
  • Priming concrete, stone and fibre-reinforced floor slab
  • Priming magnesium floor slab and glass magnesium floor slab
  • Priming timber substrates before solvent PU sealant application

Surface suitability

  • GRP, epoxy resin surfaces, PVC and ABS (patch test on the actual substrate is mandatory before proceeding)
  • Concrete, stone and fibre-reinforced floor slab (clean, dry and free of all contaminants)
  • Magnesium floor slab and glass magnesium floor slab
  • Timber (before solvent PU sealant application)
  • Transparent or translucent substrates (adequate UV protection is mandatory)

For professional use only. Not a waterproofing membrane and not a moisture barrier. Preliminary testing on the actual production substrate is mandatory before use - plastics vary widely between manufacturers and grades, and materials prone to stress cracking must be tested first. Formulated for solvent-based products - for hybrid and MS systems, including ACTFLEX 906 WPU and ACTFLEX MS PRO, specify ACTFLEX SUPERPRIME 008. Apply once only, do not build multiple coats, and do not dilute or mix with any other substance. Do not apply below 5C or above 35C. Adequate UV protection is mandatory where used on transparent or translucent substrates. Discard immediately if gelling, separation or a significant increase in viscosity occurs. Classified a HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL and DANGEROUS GOODS, Poisons Schedule S6 - highly flammable liquid and vapour. Exclude all ignition sources and do not use or store in pits, depressions, basements or any area where vapours may be trapped.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What is ACTFLEX SuperBond 007 used for?
    Compatibility

SuperBond 007 is a moisture-reactive primer that promotes adhesion between PVC and polyurethane sealants. Used for sealing PVC pipe penetrations, PVC waterstops, and bonding PU products to PVC, glass, aluminium, metal, timber, and other non-porous materials.

  • How fast does it dry?
    Performance

SuperBond 007 dries extremely fast - tack-free in 3-5 minutes at 23°C (some applications report 30-second flash). The fast dry lets you complete priming and sealant application in a single visit.

  • How is it applied?
    Installation

Apply a single thin coat directly to the substrate using a lint-free cloth or brush. Ready-to-use - no mixing or thinning. Solvent-based with 30% solids content, clear in appearance.

  • What's the application temperature range?
    Compatibility

Apply between 5°C and 35°C ambient. The moisture-reactive cure works even in humid conditions - in fact, some humidity is required for proper cure. 12-month shelf life when stored sealed.

  • What sealants does it prime for?
    Performance

Primes substrates for ACTFLEX 75FC polyurethane sealant, MS Pro modified polyurethane, and other Forspec polyurethane joint sealants. Particularly important on smooth PVC where direct sealant adhesion can fail.
