ACTFLEX MB200 is a single-pack, solvent-free polyurethane primer and moisture vapour retarder. One coat primes cementitious substrates for FORSPEC membranes, screeds and levellers. Two crosswise coats make a moisture vapour retarder rated to 98% substrate RH, so damp slabs can take timber and resilient floors.

Technical overview

ACTFLEX MB200 is a pure polyurethane resin primer engineered as a fast-drying, single-component moisture vapour retarder and bonding primer. At approximately 100% solids and solvent-free, it penetrates deeply into cementitious substrates, consolidates and strengthens weak surface layers, seals the substrate against dusting, and builds a continuous film that retards moisture vapour transmission from below. Applied as a single coat it is a bonding primer; applied as two crosswise coats it becomes a moisture vapour retarder rated to substrate relative humidity of up to 98%. It is certified to ASTM E96 for water vapour transmission under XTecGen Report 514-1 at 4.34 g/m2/24 h. VOC certification is not currently held and all other performance values are typical R&D characteristic values.

Not a waterproofing membrane. ACTFLEX MB200 retards moisture vapour transmission and does not resist hydrostatic pressure, and it is not for use where liquid water, rising damp or negative hydrostatic pressure is present. One coat is a primer and two crosswise coats are a moisture barrier: a single coat does not deliver the moisture vapour rating. Do not dilute under any circumstances. Do not apply below 5C or above 35C substrate and ambient temperature. Do not apply to loose, friable or contaminated substrates without full mechanical rectification. Avoid puddling and uneven film build, as pooled material will not cure correctly and creates a weak layer. Where no sand broadcast is applied, the next layer must follow within 48 hours, beyond which the surface must be mechanically reactivated or re-primed. Always confirm the coating specification and number of coats with a FORSPEC representative before work begins. MB200 is a HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL and DANGEROUS GOODS, signal word Danger: it is fatal if inhaled, causes skin and serious eye irritation, may cause an allergic skin reaction and asthma symptoms, is suspected of causing cancer and causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Do not breathe mist, vapours or spray, use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and face protection.
