ACTFLEX 989 CWP is a two-part flexible cementitious modified acrylic waterproofing membrane for internal and external non-exposed areas. It is independently certified Class III under both AS/NZS 4858 and AS 4654.1. Mix the 18kg kit, roll it on, and tile direct with ACTFLEX BIOSET.

Correct application makes all the difference.
Not a stand-alone UV-exposed membrane and not a permanent trafficable surface - it is always covered by tiles, screed, pavers or an approved finish. Never apply below 10C or above 35C, ambient or substrate, or when rain is imminent. Never dilute with water or solvent. Mechanical mixing only, never by hand. Recoat, tile, screed or cover with pavers or decking within 5 days of the final coat; beyond that, clean with mild detergent and water, dry fully and re-prepare before proceeding. Confined, poorly ventilated areas cure slowly - recoat minimum 24 hours, full cure minimum 7 days, with mechanical ventilation in tanks and basements. Water-holding structures are filled no earlier than 10 days after the final coat. Where the membrane is fully exposed to UV beneath open pedestal pavers, top-coat with ACTFLEX 101 UV at 0.6 mm DFT before pedestal installation. The membrane relies on correctly executed bond breakers, fillets and reinforcement at all junctions. Part B powder is a hazardous chemical containing portland cement - it causes serious eye damage and is suspected of causing genetic defects, so avoid all dust inhalation and skin contact.

Expert Technical989 CWP is a high-performance cementitious membrane for wet areas, balconies, podiums, pools, and below-grade retaining walls. Particularly suited to anti-efflorescence under-tile applications.
989 CWP is fast-curing - foot traffic and tile-ready in 6-8 hours, full cure in 72 hours. Underground applications need 7 days, water-contact applications need 10+ days before immersion.
Coverage is approximately 8 m² per 18kg kit at 1.2mm DFT. Two-component (polymer + powder) mixed on site. Dual hydration + polymerisation cure gives both rigidity and flexibility.
Certified to AS4858-2004 and AS4654.1:2012 - Class III. With 389% elongation and 2.31 MPa tensile strength, it meets the most demanding cementitious membrane specifications in the Forspec range.
989 CWP is the higher-performance cementitious option - faster cure, slightly higher elongation, and slightly better tensile rating than 988. Use 989 for premium specs; 988 for general cementitious WP including high hydrostatic pressure work.
