Expert TechnicalThe 150mm Floor Scraper is used to remove dried adhesive, paint, levelling compound, old sealant, and surface contamination from concrete and tiled substrates before applying waterproofing membranes or coatings.
Hold at a 30-45 degree angle to the surface and push or pull with firm pressure. For stubborn build-up, score with the blade edge first then scrape. Always work away from your body.
Yes. The scraper takes standard replacement blades available from hardware suppliers. Swap blades when the edge dulls - a sharp blade is safer and more effective than a worn one.
Use with caution. The scraper is designed for substrate prep and can scratch glazed tile surfaces. For tile restoration use a plastic scraper or specialised tile spatula instead.
Australian standards (AS3740 / AS4654) require the substrate to be clean, dry, sound, and free of laitance, paint, oil, and curing compounds. The floor scraper is a key tool for achieving this.
