Pre mixed non-slip coating tested to AS/NZS 4586:2004, wet pendulum 68V (High).

Synpave Sport & Rec is a pre mixed, pre coloured, water based, slip-resistant coating for internal and external trafficable surfaces. It is UV stable, hot tyre resistant and forms a hard wearing finish. 14L pail, pre mixed and ready to use.

Not for

Do not apply below 12°C or if the temperature is expected to drop below 12°C within 4 hours. Do not apply on exterior surfaces if rain or dew is expected within 4 hours. Do not apply in direct sunlight when surface temperatures exceed 35°C. New concrete needs 28 days cure first. Areas subject to hydrostatic moisture need Concrete Sealer GP first. A clear top coat will reduce slip resistance. Do not use solvent based cleaners.

Coverage for Maximum Wear Resistance:

For the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating, apply each coat at a rate of 3 to 4 m² per litre for optimal wear resistance. Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating is pre-mixed and ready to use. Ensure that Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating is mixed thoroughly to achieve an even, smooth consistency before application. Apply the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating evenly with a medium nap roller or squeegee, followed immediately by light finishing (laying off) with a broom or brush.

For the best results, the second coat and any subsequent coats of the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating should be finished at a right angle to the previous coat. A squeegee finish with Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating generally provides the maximum non-slip results. Apply a minimum of two coats of Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating, allowing at least 2 hours of drying time between coats under good drying conditions (minimum 10°C and maximum 70% relative humidity, no rain). In cold, wet, or humid weather, allow additional time between coats of the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating.

Allow the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating to cure for a minimum of 4 hours before foot traffic or 2 days before vehicle traffic under good drying conditions (minimum 10°C and maximum 70% relative humidity, no rain). Clean equipment with water immediately after each coat of Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating is applied while the material is still wet.

Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating is recommended for both commercial and residential use. Common applications of the non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating include car parks, rooftops, driveways, walkways, playgrounds, and similar areas around domestic, municipal, educational, and commercial buildings. The non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating is also suitable for stair treads, decks, balconies, and ramps, and can be easily repaired or recoated after thorough cleaning.

The non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating applied according to this bulletin meets the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4586:2013 for slip resistance. The non-slip coating Synpave Sport & Rec Non-Slip Coating achieves a Wet Pendulum P5 Classification (High) and Oil Wet Ramp result R13.

Clean the surface of all contamination such as oils, grease, foreign matter and loose impediments
Coat a small test area first and confirm the result before starting
Concrete: allow new concrete to cure 28 days, then remove all dirt, dust, grease, oil, paint and other contaminants
Concrete: sand, scabble or grind sufficiently to remove surface contaminants and laitance, using dust encapsulation equipment; acid etching is preferred for extra preparation
Concrete subject to hydrostatic moisture: apply Concrete Sealer GP in 2 coats at 0.45 to 0.55 kg per m2 per coat, second coat when the first is touch dry, then allow 24 hours minimum
Asphalt: high pressure water blast and remove all foreign matter
Timber: clean and lightly sand for optimum adhesion
Steel and metals: clean and prime with Protek Metal Primer and allow 8 hours minimum drying
Existing coatings: remove loose chalking or flaking particles and sand and clean existing paving paints
Stir the coating thoroughly to an even smooth consistency before use; it is pre mixed and ready to use
Apply evenly with a medium nap roller or squeegee
Lay off immediately with a broom or brush
Apply a minimum of two coats, allowing 2 hours minimum between coats in good drying conditions
Finish the second and any subsequent coat at right angles to the previous coat
