Technical overview

This kit is built around ACTFLEX PU200, a one-component, solvent-free, hydrophobic polyurethane injection resin for sealing active water leaks and cracks in concrete structures. On contact with water the resin reacts to form a rapidly expanding, closed-cell polyurethane foam that fills the crack or void and blocks water ingress. The low-viscosity resin penetrates fine cracks and porous zones, cures without shrinkage, and stays dimensionally stable in permanently damp, below-grade environments. It is a water-stopping resin, not a structural repair. No Australian Standard specifically governs polyurethane injection resins for water-stopping, so every performance value published here is a Forspec R&D characteristic value determined on standard production material and is not subject to third-party certification.

Key applications

  • Concrete crack injection - sealing active leaks in structural and non-structural concrete elements
  • Basements and underground structures - stopping water ingress through foundations, retaining walls and slabs
  • Tunnels and below-grade infrastructure - leak sealing in tunnels, subways and underground services
  • Dams and reservoirs - sealing leaks in water-retaining structures subject to hydrostatic pressure
  • Wastewater treatment structures - sealing leaks in tanks and channels
  • Bridges and parking decks - sealing cracks and joints exposed to moisture
  • Manholes, pits and utility vaults - preventing water infiltration in below-grade utility infrastructure

Surface suitability

  • Concrete cracks in structural and non-structural elements
  • Concrete foundations, retaining walls and slabs in basements and underground structures
  • Concrete with sufficient water present; dry cracks pre-wetted through the packers before injection
  • Substrate and material temperature greater than 10C
  • Buried and internal concealed concrete only, not exposed finishes

Water-stopping product only, not a structural repair - use the FORSPEC structural injection range for load-transferring crack repair. Requires water to react - dry cracks must be pre-wetted through the packers before injection. Do not apply below 10C substrate or material temperature; cold conditions slow the reaction and reduce expansion. Not certified for contact with drinking water (AS/NZS 4020) - do not use in potable water structures unless confirmed in writing by Forspec. Not UV stable - for buried and internal concealed applications, not for exposed finishes. Live movement joints require a purpose-designed movement joint system; injected foam alone must not be relied on across joints subject to ongoing movement. Injection into voids of unknown volume can consume large resin quantities - probe and assess before injecting. Moisture-sensitive - the resin reacts with atmospheric humidity; keep containers sealed until use and use opened containers promptly. Classified as hazardous - handle with chemical-resistant gloves, safety eyewear, protective clothing and, in areas with limited ventilation, suitable respiratory protection, and observe confined space entry requirements in below-grade spaces. Never leave moisture-sensitive resins such as PU200 inside the machine, never clean the machine with water, and never run it dry for more than 15 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What's in the PU200 Standard Crack Injection Kit?
    Compatibility

The Standard PU200 Kit is the entry-level kit for hydrophobic polyurethane crack injection - includes the SWM 1300 pump, hose, handle, 10mm packer selection, gun coupler, and a starter quantity of ACTFLEX PU200 resin.

  • When should I use this vs the Advanced kit?
    Performance

Standard is sized for residential and light commercial wet crack repair - basement leaks, planter box cracks, light retaining walls. Step up to Advanced for structural cracks, deeper concrete, or higher-pressure water situations.

  • What's the first-time learning experience like?
    Installation

Crack injection has a moderate learning curve - mostly around correct packer placement, drilling angles, and recognising 'refusal' (when the crack is fully filled). Read the supplied instructions and watch the Forspec tutorial videos before your first job.

  • Does it work with epoxy resins too?
    Compatibility

The Standard pump is rated for polyurethane resins. For epoxy injection (ER300, Crack Pro 1200), the SWM 1500 (Advanced kit) is recommended due to higher viscosity. Single-component PU products run perfectly through the SWM 1300.

  • Is PU200 safe for indoor work?
    Compliance

PU200 has lower VOC than older PU injection products but still requires good ventilation during application. Use appropriate PPE per the supplied SDS. The cured foam is inert and safe.
