Two-pack hydrophobic PU injection resin with the accelerator in the box. Dose it to set the reaction time.

ACTFLEX PU300 is a two-component hydrophobic polyurethane injection resin: 20 kg base resin plus 2 kg accelerator, mixed 10 to 1 by weight. The accelerator dose sets the reaction time, so you tune it to the temperature and the water flow. On contact with water the mix expands to a closed-cell foam that seals cracks, construction joints and voids.

Where to use it

  • Active leaks in concrete ceilings, walls, floors and construction joints
  • Basements, tunnels, underground structures and retaining walls
  • Non-structural void filling in concrete
  • Dams, reservoirs, wastewater structures and pipelines
  • Wet or dry cracks. Pre-wet dry cracks through the packers

Why waterproofers buy it

  • Reaction time from 150 to 200 seconds at 2 to 1, up to 340 to 360 seconds at the standard 10 to 1
  • Works in flowing water and high moisture
  • Free-foam expansion above 15 times
  • Hydrophobic closed-cell foam. No shrinkage, no need for permanent water contact
  • Bond to concrete greater than 2.28 MPa
  • Pot life 20 to 30 minutes once mixed
  • 22 kg set. 10 year Forspec product warranty

Coverage

No fixed rate. Consumption depends on crack width, depth and voids. Estimate from crack volume and confirm by trial injection.

Not for

Structural crack repair (use the FORSPEC structural injection range), dry cracks unless pre-wetted, below 10°C, UV exposure, movement joints, or drinking-water structures without written Forspec confirmation. Keep containers, gear and lines dry.

All times at 25°C and 50% RH. Forspec R&D typical values.

Accelerator dosage tunes the reaction time to ambient temperature and water flow
Works in flowing water and high moisture, and in dry substrates when pre-wetted
Free-foam expansion above 15 times fills voids, cavities and construction joints

Technical overview

ACTFLEX PU300 is a two-component, hydrophobic polyurethane injection resin consisting of a base resin and an accelerator, mixed at 10:1 by weight as a 22 kg set of 20 kg resin plus 2 kg accelerator. The separate accelerator component gives precise control of the reaction time, allowing adjustment to site conditions such as ambient temperature, water flow rate and substrate characteristics. On contact with water the mixed resin expands to a rapidly curing, closed-cell hydrophobic foam that seals cracks, construction joints and voids. It is a water-stopping resin, not a structural repair. No Australian Standard specifically governs polyurethane injection resins for water-stopping, so every performance value published here is a Forspec R&D characteristic value on standard production material and is not subject to third-party certification. It is not certified for contact with drinking water under AS/NZS 4020.

Key applications

  • Sealing active leaks in concrete - ceilings, walls, floors and construction joints
  • Basements, tunnels, underground structures and retaining walls
  • Filling voids, cracks and cavities in concrete (non-structural void filling)
  • Stopping active water leaks in dams, reservoirs, wastewater structures and pipelines
  • Void filling and stabilisation behind structures, and in soils and rock formations, subject to geotechnical assessment and trial injection
  • Wet and dry conditions - dry cracks are pre-wetted through the packers before injection

Surface suitability

  • Concrete ceilings, walls, floors and construction joints
  • Concrete voids, cracks and cavities (non-structural void filling)
  • Concrete in flowing-water and high-moisture conditions
  • Dry concrete cracks pre-wetted through the packers before injection
  • Soils and rock formations, subject to geotechnical assessment and trial injection
  • Substrate and material temperature greater than 10C

Pot life is 20-30 minutes once mixed at 25C and 50% RH - mix only the quantity that can be injected within this time. Requires water to foam - dry cracks must be pre-wetted through the packers before injection. Water-stopping and void-filling product only, not a structural repair - use the FORSPEC structural injection range for load-transferring crack repair. Do not apply below 10C substrate or material temperature; cold conditions slow the reaction and reduce expansion. Not certified for contact with drinking water (AS/NZS 4020) - do not use in potable water structures unless confirmed in writing by Forspec. Moisture-sensitive components - the resin reacts with atmospheric humidity; keep containers sealed, and keep equipment and lines dry. Not UV stable - for buried and internal concealed applications, not for exposed finishes. Live movement joints require a purpose-designed movement joint system; injected foam alone must not be relied on across joints subject to ongoing movement. Injection into voids of unknown volume can consume large resin quantities - probe and assess before injecting. Soil and rock stabilisation applications are subject to geotechnical assessment and trial injection. Classified as hazardous - handle with chemical-resistant gloves, safety eyewear, protective clothing and, in areas with limited ventilation, suitable respiratory protection.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What is ACTFLEX PU300 used for?
    Compatibility

PU300 is a hydrophobic polyurethane crack injection with an adjustable reaction profile - the 2-component design (resin + accelerator) lets you tune the cure speed to match the specific crack and water conditions on site.

  • How does the adjustable cure work?
    Performance

Mix 10:1 base resin to accelerator for controllable cure timing. Foaming time 150-600 seconds depending on accelerator dose. Faster cure for high-flow leaks, slower cure for deep penetration in dry cracks.

  • Specifications?
    Installation

Viscosity 450-600 mPa·s. Bond strength to concrete exceeds 2.28 MPa. Elongation greater than 100% (thick) or 250% (thin film). Density 1.12-1.2 g/cm³. Apply at greater than 10°C ambient.

  • When should I use PU300 vs PU200?
    Compatibility

Use PU300 when you need adjustable cure timing for difficult conditions (heavily wet cracks, deep structural cracks). Use PU200 for standard hydrophobic injection where the fixed cure profile works.

  • What does the cured foam look like?
    Performance

Light brown closed-cell hydrophobic foam. Immediately waterproofs cracks on water contact. 12-month shelf life when stored sealed. Safe for indoor work with appropriate ventilation.
