UV stable topcoat for ACTFLEX 929 SL and 929 HV, or a standalone trafficable membrane over EP250. 100% solids, 1:1 mix.

ACTFLEX ULTRA TC is a 100% solids, two-component aliphatic polyurethane, mixed 1:1. Wet film equals dry film. Use it as the UV stable wearing face over cured ACTFLEX 929 SL and 929 HV, or on its own over two coats of ACTFLEX EP250.

Where to use it

  • UV stable protective topcoat over cured ACTFLEX 929 SL and ACTFLEX 929 HV
  • Standalone trafficable waterproofing membrane over two coats of ACTFLEX EP250, 1.2 mm total DFT
  • Balconies, walkways, plant rooms and exposed horizontal surfaces with foot traffic

Why waterproofers buy it

  • 100% solids. No shrinkage, no solvent loss, no film collapse
  • Aliphatic polyurethane holds colour and gloss under sustained UV without chalking
  • Elongation greater than 300%, absorbs movement and impact
  • Trafficable when fully cured
  • Simple 1:1 mix by volume and by weight, 40 minute pot life at 25°C and 50% RH
  • Solvent free, no flash point
  • 40 kg kit: 20 kg Part A plus 20 kg Part B
  • 10 year Forspec product warranty

Coverage

Practical yield per 40 kg kit:
Light duty topcoat, 0.3 mm: 81 to 86 m².
Standard duty topcoat, 0.6 mm: 40 to 43 m².
Standalone membrane, 1.2 mm in two coats over EP250: 20 to 21 m².

Not for

Use as a primer, permanent immersion, swimming pools, tanks or ponds, negative-side hydrostatic pressure, damp substrates, application outside 10°C to 30°C or when rain threatens before cure. Do not dilute.

100% solids - wet film equals dry film, with no shrinkage and no solvent loss
Aliphatic polyurethane holds colour and gloss under sustained UV without chalking
Dual role - topcoat over the ACTFLEX 929 range or a standalone membrane over EP250

Technical overview

ACTFLEX Ultra TC is a 100% solids, two-component aliphatic polyurethane UV topcoat and standalone membrane. Mixed 1:1 and cured through a solvent-free reaction, it lays down its full film in a single pass, so wet film equals dry film with no shrinkage and no solvent release. The aliphatic backbone holds colour and gloss under sustained solar exposure without chalking, and elongation in excess of 300% lets the cured film absorb substrate movement. It works in two roles: the UV-stable trafficable face over cured ACTFLEX 929 SL and 929 HV, and a standalone membrane over ACTFLEX EP250. No accredited third-party test report is presently held and all performance values are typical Forspec R&D characteristic values.

Key applications

  • UV-stable protective topcoat over cured ACTFLEX 929 SL
  • UV-stable protective topcoat over cured ACTFLEX 929 HV
  • Standalone UV-stable trafficable waterproofing membrane over two coats of ACTFLEX EP250, at 1.2 mm total DFT
  • Exposed trafficable wall and floor surfaces requiring a durable UV-stable finish
  • Plant rooms, walkways, balconies and exposed horizontal surfaces subject to foot traffic
  • Refurbishment of existing solvent-based polyurethane membranes requiring a new UV-stable wearing face

Surface suitability

  • Concrete (cured a minimum of 28 days, mechanically prepared by grinding or shot blasting to an open profile, then primed with two coats of ACTFLEX EP250 for the standalone system)
  • Cured ACTFLEX 929 SL (fully cured, sound and well adhered, cleaned thoroughly with intercoat adhesion confirmed on a trial area)
  • Cured ACTFLEX 929 HV (fully cured, sound and well adhered, cleaned thoroughly with intercoat adhesion confirmed on a trial area)
  • Existing solvent-based polyurethane membranes requiring a new UV-stable wearing face

Not a primer - over porous and cementitious substrates the standalone system requires two coats of ACTFLEX EP250 beneath it. Not for permanent immersion, and not for swimming pools, tanks or ponds. Not for negative-side hydrostatic pressure. Apply only to dry substrates between 10C and 30C, and never where rain threatens before the film has cured. Pot life is 40 minutes at 25C and 50% RH and shortens sharply as temperature rises - mix only what can be laid within the window. Do not dilute; dilution of a 100% solids system is not permitted under any circumstances. Mix ratio is fixed at 1:1 and part-mixing kits is not permitted unless both components are weighed accurately. Complete a trial area where substrate, adhesion or colour is uncertain. Classified in accordance with the current Safety Data Sheets for both components - may cause skin and eye irritation and respiratory sensitisation. Part B is moisture-sensitive, so reseal immediately after use.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • Which surfaces is it safe on?
    Compatibility

Most glazed ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic and tough natural stone. Always spot-test on porous stones, marble, or polished surfaces before full use.

  • How long should I leave it on the tile?
    Cure & Dry Time

20 to 30 minutes contact time. Do not allow the gel to dry on the surface — re-wet if working a large area.

  • How much area does a 5 L can cover?
    Coverage & Coats

Approximately 30-40 m² of cleaned tile surface per 5 L can, depending on residue thickness.

  • Will it remove cured epoxy grout?
    Performance

Most effective on epoxy grout residue removed within 48 hours of grouting. Heavily cured residue may require mechanical assistance or specialist removers.

  • How should it be stored?
    Storage

Store in a cool dry place in original sealed container, away from frost. Avoid temperatures below 5°C.
