Fibre X Fibreglass Additive 1kg for Screeds, Renders & Cementitious Mixes
Alkali-resistant glass fibre for screeds, renders and mortars. 1 kg treats a tonne of dry mix.
FORSPEC FIBRE X is an alkali-resistant fibreglass reinforcement fibre for cementitious screeds, mortars, renders and concrete toppings. Dry blend it in at batching and it spreads a three-dimensional net of filaments through the full depth of the mix, catching plastic shrinkage cracks as they start. AR glass survives the alkaline cement matrix long term, and it cannot rust.
Where to use it
- FORSPEC SCREEDX and FORCEM SCREED BINDER screeds, as the specified fibre
- Bonded, unbonded and floating screeds, sand and cement screeds and toppings
- Screeds over underfloor heating, pre-waterproofing screeds and screeds over FORSPEC membranes
- Roofing and falls screeds, screed repair and patching mixes
Why waterproofers buy it
- Alkali resistant, built to last in the high-pH cement matrix
- Controls plastic shrinkage cracking while the mix is still green
- Reinforces the full depth of the section, not one plane like mesh
- Non-corrosive, no staining or spalling at shallow cover or in wet screeds
- Improves toughness, impact resistance and flexural performance
- 1 kg pack, 36 month shelf life
Coverage
Dosage is by weight of dry mix. Standard: 1 kg per tonne, so 20 g per 20 kg bag, about 2 kg per m³ of screed. Enhanced: 1.5 to 2.0 kg per tonne, or 30 to 40 g per 20 kg SCREEDX bag.
Not for
Replacing structural steel where an engineer specifies it, replacing movement joints, reducing screed thickness on its own, or adding to a wet mix. Do not exceed the enhanced dose.
