Ultra-low viscosity injection epoxy for hairline cracks from 0.05 mm. 100 to 500 cps, 80.5 MPa compressive.

CRACKLOCK E400L is a two-part, 100% solids, solvent-free injection epoxy for the finest cracks, 0.05 mm to 3 mm, in concrete and masonry. At 100 to 500 cps it wicks deep into the crack and rebuilds structural continuity instead of just sealing the surface. 400 mL dual cartridge, 3:1, static mixing nozzle.

Where to use it

  • Pressure injection or gravity feed into horizontal concrete and masonry cracks 0.05 mm to 3 mm wide
  • Port injection of fine vertical cracks in the FORSPEC epoxy injection procedure
  • Binder for epoxy mortar patching and interior overlays with aggregate

Why waterproofers buy it

  • 100 to 500 cps. Gets into hairline cracks that paste-grade adhesives cannot enter
  • 80.5 MPa compressive, 70.3 MPa flexural, 34.6 MPa tensile. Shrinkage on cure 0.01%
  • Self-levelling on gravity feed, fills the crack section without working
  • Gel time 30 to 40 minutes. Grind, coat or return to full traffic at 24 hours. Full cure 7 days
  • 10 year Forspec product warranty

Coverage

A 400 mL cartridge runs about 40 m on a 1 x 10 mm crack or 8.9 m at 3 x 15 mm.

Not for

Cracks over 3 mm (use CRACK PRO 1200PS, or PROBOND 1100 for 3 to 20 mm), damp, wet or frosted substrates, concrete under 28 days old, below 5°C or above 35°C, drinking water, or waterproofing. Condition to 18 to 29°C first. Never dilute.

Full cure at 24°C.

Technical overview

CRACKLOCK E400L is a two-component, 100% solids, solvent-free structural injection epoxy for crack repair at the finest end of the range. At 100-500 cps it drives deep capillary penetration into hairline and fine cracks from 0.05 mm to 3 mm in concrete and masonry, restoring structural continuity from within the crack body rather than sealing it at the surface. It is self-levelling in gravity feed and suited equally to port injection, and it doubles as an epoxy resin binder for mortar patching and interior overlays. No accredited certificate is currently held for CRACKLOCK E400L. All performance values are published as typical Forspec R&D characteristic values against their stated test method, the low-VOC claim is a manufacturer statement, and no potable water claim is made.

Key applications

  • Structural crack repair by pressure injection and gravity feed in horizontal concrete and masonry, 0.05 mm to 3 mm crack width
  • Port injection repair of fine vertical cracks within the FORSPEC epoxy injection procedure
  • Deep penetration into fine cracks and voids to restore structural integrity
  • Epoxy mortar patching as a binder with aggregate
  • Durable interior surface overlays when combined with aggregate
  • Industrial and commercial repairs - warehouses, bridges, tunnels and infrastructure
  • Controlled environments where low-VOC materials are required

Surface suitability

  • Concrete (minimum 28 days old, clean, sound, completely dry and mechanically profiled)
  • Masonry (clean, dry and free of dirt, dust, laitance, curing compounds, oils, grease, wax, sealers and coatings)

Not a waterproofing membrane. Not for cracks wider than 3 mm - specify CRACK PRO 1200PS, or PROBOND 1100 for 3-20 mm. Not for application to damp, wet or frosted substrates; the crack and the environment must be completely dry. Not for new concrete less than 28 days old. No potable water claim is made, so do not specify it for contact with drinking water. Do not apply below 5C or above 35C substrate and ambient temperature, and below 21C condition the product to 21-24C before use. Condition the material to 18-29C before use, because cold product thickens and loses the low viscosity the product depends on. Do not dilute, extend, re-temper or add solvent under any circumstances. Do not leave a partially used cartridge with a loaded static mixer. Surface overlay use is restricted to interior surfaces and epoxy mortar thickness must not exceed 70 mm per layer.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What is Crack Lock E400L used for?
    Compatibility

Crack Lock E400L is a low-viscosity epoxy for hairline crack repair, small void filling, and structural reinforcement in driveways, slabs, walls, and structural elements. Penetrates cracks from 0.05mm to 3mm wide.

  • What's the cured strength?
    Performance

Crack Lock E400L achieves 80.5 MPa compressive strength (ASTM D695-15) - one of the highest-strength injection resins in the Forspec range. Restores or exceeds parent concrete strength.

  • Why the ultra-low viscosity?
    Installation

Viscosity 100-500 cps at 25°C - so thin it wicks into hairline cracks where higher-viscosity epoxies can't penetrate. Critical for deep penetration into structural microcracks.

  • Mix ratio and application?
    Compatibility

3:1 mix ratio. Tack-free in 30-40 minutes at 23°C, full cure approximately 3 hours at 24°C. Apply at 5-35°C ambient. 100% solids, solvent-free, waterproof when cured.

  • Shelf life?
    Performance

24-month shelf life when stored sealed. Service temperature -7°C to +50°C once cured. Impermeable when cured - sealed cracks become permanent.
