High-flow self-levelling compound, 1.5 mm to 100 mm in a single pass. 35 MPa, pumpable, walk on it in 2 hours.

FORSPEC LEVELX is a high-flow, polymer-modified cementitious levelling compound for rapid, accurate smoothing of internal floors. It flows to a smooth, dense, dimensionally stable surface ready for vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles, epoxy coatings and waterproofing membranes. Hand or pump applied. 20 kg bag.

Where to use it

  • Internal concrete floors before vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles or polished overlays
  • Deep fills and slab regularisation from 30 to 100 mm with the aggregate-extended mix
  • Ramps, transitions and drainage falls with the stiff-mix method
  • Under Forspec membranes in wet areas, and over hydronic or electric underfloor heating
  • Large pours through continuous forced-action mixing pumps
  • Priming is mandatory: ACTFLEX 300 on dry substrates (4.5% moisture or less), two coats of ACTFLEX EP250 sand-seeded on damp or green concrete

Why waterproofers buy it

  • 1.5 to 100 mm per pass with one product
  • Fully pumpable, so big commercial pours stay continuous
  • Walkable in 2 hours. Membranes and build-up passes from 4 hours. Coverings from 24 hours
  • 35 MPa compressive at 28 days, 8 MPa flexural
  • Dense, smooth, pinhole-free finish with no sanding
  • Low shrinkage, crack-resistant matrix
  • 20 to 30 minute open time. Mixes with 4.4 to 4.8 L of water per bag

Coverage

20 kg bag: approx. 7.8 m² at 1.5 mm, 3.9 m² at 3 mm, 2.3 m² at 5 mm, 1.2 m² at 10 mm, 0.39 m² at 30 mm. Basis is approx. 1.7 kg of powder per m² per mm. Coverage is theoretical and varies with surface profile and wastage.

Not for

Use as a final wear surface (it must be covered with tile, vinyl, epoxy or another floor covering), structural screeds, permanently wet or submerged service, substrates that move or flex, or application below 10°C or above 30°C. Never exceed the mixing water or re-temper stiffened material. Do not leave it exposed for long before covering.

All times at 25°C and 50% RH.

1.5mm to 100mm in a single pour, feather-edge correction to deep fills
Fully pumpable for continuous forced-action mixing pumps on large installations
Walkable in 2 hours so following trades proceed the same day

Technical overview

FORSPEC LEVELX is a high-flow, polymer-modified cementitious levelling compound engineered for rapid, accurate smoothing of internal floors from 1.5 mm feather-edge correction to 100 mm deep fills in a single pass. It flows to a smooth, dense, dimensionally stable surface ready for vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles, epoxy coatings and waterproofing membrane systems, and is walkable in two hours and fully pumpable. It is a cementitious levelling material of the type covered by EN 13813, indicative designation CT-C35-F7, reaching 35 MPa compressive strength at 28 days. No Australian Standard specifically governs proprietary levelling compounds. The published performance values are Forspec R&D characteristic data unless a test report is cited, and test reports are available on request from Forspec.

Key applications

  • Levelling and smoothing internal concrete floors before vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles or polished overlays
  • Deep-section filling and slab regularisation from 30-100 mm using the aggregate-extended mix
  • Forming ramps, transitions and drainage falls using the stiff-mix method
  • Substrate preparation beneath FORSPEC waterproofing membrane systems in wet areas
  • Floors incorporating hydronic or electric underfloor heating
  • Protected external levelling, primed in accordance with the priming section
  • Large commercial pours using continuous forced-action mixing pumps

Surface suitability

  • Concrete (structurally sound, rigid and fully cured, new concrete minimum 28 days, mechanically prepared to CSP 3-6)
  • Dry concrete at 4.5% moisture or less (primed with ACTFLEX 300)
  • High-moisture concrete over 4.5% or green concrete under 28 days (two coats of ACTFLEX EP250, sand-seeded)
  • Smooth, dense or burnished concrete (slurry bond coat of ACTFLEX 300, water and LEVELX powder)
  • Existing cement screeds and sound fixed adhesive residues (minimum 2-3 mm build)
  • Timber subfloors (completely dry, rigid and adequately fixed, minimum 2 mm build, with continuous subfloor ventilation)
  • Floors incorporating hydronic or electric underfloor heating
  • Protected external areas (substrate primed with ACTFLEX EP250, sand-seeded)

Not a final wear surface - it must be covered with tile, vinyl, epoxy or another appropriate floor covering. Not a structural screed. Not suitable for permanently wet or submerged service. Apply only over stable, rigid, well-prepared substrates - not suitable for surfaces subject to movement or flex. Priming is mandatory and mechanical surface preparation is mandatory: substrates must be ground, shot-blasted or scarified to CSP 3-6 and free of oil, dust, curing agents, sealers and contaminants. Substrate moisture governs primer selection - test before priming. External applications subject to moisture ingress require the substrate to be primed with ACTFLEX EP250, sand-seeded. Do not apply below 10C or above 30C ambient or substrate. Never exceed the mixing water dose or re-temper stiffened material - overwatering destroys strength and surface finish. Movement and control joints must be honoured through the full LEVELX layer and the final floor finish to prevent reflective cracking. Avoid extended exposure before covering as it increases the risk of surface cracking. Do not allow product to enter gaps around heating pipes, particularly galvanised steel pipes, because of corrosion risk. The wet mix is alkaline at pH approx. 11 and can cause burns to skin and eyes, and dust from the dry powder is hazardous if inhaled - wear a P2 dust respirator, chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear and covering clothing.
