FORSPEC LEVELX is a high-flow, polymer-modified cementitious levelling compound for rapid, accurate smoothing of internal floors. It flows to a smooth, dense, dimensionally stable surface ready for vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles, epoxy coatings and waterproofing membranes. Hand or pump applied. 20 kg bag.

Coverage

Use as a final wear surface (it must be covered with tile, vinyl, epoxy or another floor covering), structural screeds, permanently wet or submerged service, substrates that move or flex, or application below 10°C or above 30°C. Never exceed the mixing water or re-temper stiffened material. Do not leave it exposed for long before covering.

How to Use

Mix one 20kg bag into 4.4-4.8 L of clean cool water, pour onto the tacky primer and spread to thickness with a gauge rake or steel smoothing trowel, then spike-roll in both directionsConfirm the substrate is structurally sound, rigid and fully cured, new concrete a minimum of 28 days
Grind, shot-blast or scarify the surface to remove laitance and all weak, powdery or contaminated layers, to CSP 3-6 with no glaze or residue
Remove all oil, grease, paint, curing compounds, sealers and adhesive residues, then vacuum-clean the prepared surface
Rout static cracks under 3 mm into a V-groove and fill with the FORSPEC epoxy crack repair range; stitch dynamic or structural cracks with epoxy and dowels before levelling
Measure substrate moisture with in-slab RH probes or a calibrated moisture meter and record the readings
Form up doorways, drains, penetrations and level changes before pouring; the mix is high-flow and will find any opening
Prime dry substrates at 4.5% moisture or less with ACTFLEX 300, using the double-prime method on rough or porous concrete
Prime high-moisture substrates over 4.5% or green concrete with two coats of ACTFLEX EP250 at approximately 3 m2 per litre per coat, broadcast 0.5 mm sand at approximately 700 g/m2 into the wet final coat, cure 12-16 hours and vacuum off all loose sand
On smooth, dense or burnished concrete apply a slurry bond coat of 1 part ACTFLEX 300 to 1 part clean water to 2 parts LEVELX powder, brushed firmly into the surface
Measure 4.4-4.8 L of clean, cool water into the mixing barrel first, then add one full 20 kg bag
Mix with a mechanical paddle at 400-600 RPM for 2-3 minutes to a smooth, lump-free, creamy consistency, scraping the sides and base
Allow 1 minute maturation, remix briefly and pour immediately
Pour directly onto the primed substrate while the primer or slurry coat is still tacky, maintaining a wet edge and working from the furthest point back to the exit
Spread to thickness with a gauge rake, steel smoothing trowel or stand-up spreader and do not float, rework or over-trowel once placed
Spike-roll the full surface in both directions immediately after placement while the material is wet and workable
Check no ridges or rake marks remain, the wet edge was maintained at every junction, and the thickness is verified with a depth gauge at falls and doorways
Protect the fresh surface from wind, direct sunlight, drafts and fans during initial set
Allow foot traffic from 2 hours, build-up passes, topping layers and membranes from 4 hours, and bonded floor coverings from 24 hours at 25C and 50% RH
Re-prime with ACTFLEX 300 between build-up passes once the previous layer has cured, approximately 4 hours at 25C and 50% RH
Where the floor requires waterproofing, apply a compliant FORSPEC membrane over the cured LEVELX before any finish, to AS 3740 internally and AS 4654.2 externally
Cover the finished floor with tile, vinyl, epoxy or another appropriate floor covering; LEVELX is not a final wear surface

FORSPEC LEVELX is a high-flow, polymer-modified cementitious levelling compound engineered for rapid, accurate smoothing of internal floors from 1.5 mm feather-edge correction to 100 mm deep fills in a single pass. It flows to a smooth, dense, dimensionally stable surface ready for vinyl, carpet, timber, tiles, epoxy coatings and waterproofing membrane systems, and is walkable in two hours and fully pumpable. It is a cementitious levelling material of the type covered by EN 13813, indicative designation CT-C35-F7, reaching 35 MPa compressive strength at 28 days. No Australian Standard specifically governs proprietary levelling compounds. The published performance values are Forspec R&D characteristic data unless a test report is cited, and test reports are available on request from Forspec.

Not a final wear surface - it must be covered with tile, vinyl, epoxy or another appropriate floor covering. Not a structural screed. Not suitable for permanently wet or submerged service. Apply only over stable, rigid, well-prepared substrates - not suitable for surfaces subject to movement or flex. Priming is mandatory and mechanical surface preparation is mandatory: substrates must be ground, shot-blasted or scarified to CSP 3-6 and free of oil, dust, curing agents, sealers and contaminants. Substrate moisture governs primer selection - test before priming. External applications subject to moisture ingress require the substrate to be primed with ACTFLEX EP250, sand-seeded. Do not apply below 10C or above 30C ambient or substrate. Never exceed the mixing water dose or re-temper stiffened material - overwatering destroys strength and surface finish. Movement and control joints must be honoured through the full LEVELX layer and the final floor finish to prevent reflective cracking. Avoid extended exposure before covering as it increases the risk of surface cracking. Do not allow product to enter gaps around heating pipes, particularly galvanised steel pipes, because of corrosion risk. The wet mix is alkaline at pH approx. 11 and can cause burns to skin and eyes, and dust from the dry powder is hazardous if inhaled - wear a P2 dust respirator, chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear and covering clothing.
