Technical overview

ACTFLEX 700 PU Primer is a quick-drying, high-build moisture-curing polyurethane primer formulated to enhance adhesion between Forspec's solvent-based waterproofing membranes and joint sealants. The single-pack primer also functions as a bonding agent for most solvent-based polyurethane liquid membranes. Touch-dry in 30 minutes at 20°C; full cure in 6 hours.

Not for use with water-based products. Not a vapour barrier — moisture causes blistering and peeling. Not suitable for sunlight exposure; must be protected from sunlight after 48 hours of full cure. Do not apply below 10°C substrate temperature.

    Compatibility

    700 PU Primer is a high-build moisture-curing polyurethane primer specifically for solvent-based PU membranes and joint sealants. Used over new/old concrete, render, masonry, timber, bricks, CFC sheeting, and Villaboard.

  • Why specifically for solvent-based PU?
    Performance

    The 700 PU Primer chemistry is matched to solvent-based PU membranes (929 HV/SL series). It reactivates existing PU membrane surfaces, allowing fresh PU to bond to aged cured PU - critical for repair and overlay work.

  • Coverage and cure?
    Installation

    Coverage is 4-6 m² per litre. Touch-dry in 30 minutes at 20°C, waterproof in 3 hours at 25°C, full cure in 6 hours. Single-component, no mixing required.

  • Is it elastomeric?
    Compatibility

    No - 700 PU Primer is non-elastomeric. It provides bond chemistry only. The flexibility comes from the PU membrane layer applied on top. Not for continuous UV exposure - must be overcoated.

  • Shelf life and same-day use?
    Performance

    Same-day use is possible after opening (moisture-reactive chemistry means once exposed, the can starts curing). Plan to use the full pail within the same project day, or seal carefully for short-term storage.
