Apply by brush or roller in a minimum of two coats at approx. 0.9 mm wet film each to a minimum 1.2 mm total DFT, each coat at right angles to the lastConfirm every substrate is approved, structurally sound, correctly installed and suitable for the specified system - application constitutes acceptance of the substrate
Clean the substrate to a dry, open texture free from laitance, dust, loose material, oil, grease, wax, mould, curing compounds, release agents, coatings, adhesives, rust and efflorescence
Mechanically prepare concrete by grinding or shot-blasting to a clean, open texture and remove all dust by industrial vacuum
Reinstate damaged concrete, voids, blowholes and spalls with FORBUILD 100 or FORCRETE 100, finished flush and cured before priming
Remove high points, sharp projections and protrusions that could damage the membrane
Confirm falls - minimum 1:80 and maximum 1:50 to the floor waste internally, minimum 1:100 in protected external areas
Test clean bare concrete with a calibrated quantitative moisture meter and record every reading; the substrate must read below 4.5% or take the two-coat ACTFLEX EP250 moisture-control system
Prime with ACTFLEX 200 on internal porous substrates, ACTFLEX 500 NP PRIMER on approved dense or non-porous substrates, or ACTFLEX EP250 where epoxy priming or moisture control is specified
Allow the primer to reach the condition its TDS requires, inspect for full coverage, and lightly abrade or clean where necessary
Treat static cracks under 2 mm with the approved crack repair method and centre ACTFLEX SA TAPE over the crack, ends overlapped a minimum of 50 mm
Repair static cracks 2 mm and over with ACTFLEX MS PRO and the approved bond-breaker detail
Detail junctions, fillets and penetrations - ACTFLEX SA TAPE within the first wet coat, or a continuous ACTFLEX MS PRO fillet at nominal 12 mm internally and 15 mm x 15 mm in protected external work
Seal pipes, penetrations, puddle flanges and drainage outlets with the primer, sealant, reinforcement and membrane detail together
Mix at low speed until uniform and free from settled material, scraping the sides and base of the pail, without whipping air in and without diluting
Apply by brush or roller in a minimum of two uniform coats, approx. 0.9 mm wet film each, to a minimum 1.2 mm total dry film thickness, each coat at right angles to the last
Check wet film with a gauge on every coat and never exceed 1.5 mm WFT in a single pass
Recoat after 6-8 hours at 25C, 50% RH once the preceding coat is completely dry, and within a maximum of 48 hours
Protect the membrane from water, contamination, sharp objects, construction traffic and premature loading throughout curing
Allow nominally 72 hours full cure after the final coat, then flood test to a minimum depth of 50 mm at the highest point for 24 hours
Tile direct to the membrane with ACTFLEX BIOSET, or install a screed, from 24 hours after the final coat
