ACTFLEX 200 is a single-pack, water-based penetrating primer for internal wet areas. It soaks into concrete, masonry, render, fibre cement and porous screeds, binds the dust and gives the membrane a solid surface to grip. Made for use under ACTFLEX 906 WPU, ACTFLEX 989 CWP and other Forspec internal systems.

4 to 6 m² per litre, one coat, porosity dependent. 15 L pack: approx. 60 to 90 m². Coat within 24 hours or abrade and re-prime.

External work, use as a membrane or moisture barrier, hydrostatic pressure, substrates over 4.5% moisture or RH over 80% (use two coats of ACTFLEX EP250), particleboard, yellow tongue or untreated timber, screed additive or slurry duties (use ACTFLEX 300), or application below 5°C or above 35°C.

Technical overview

ACTFLEX 200 is a single-component, water-based, high-adhesion penetrating primer for internal substrates where the bond between substrate and membrane governs system performance. It penetrates deeply into concrete, masonry, render, fibre cement and porous screeds, binding surface fines, arresting dusting and consolidating the top layer for the membrane that follows. It is formulated to lift bond strength beneath ACTFLEX 906 WPU, ACTFLEX 989 CWP and other FORSPEC-classified internal waterproofing systems, and is applied in one coat at 80-120 microns wet film. No accredited certificate is currently held on file for ACTFLEX 200. All performance values are published as typical R&D characteristic values, and system compliance is established by the certified FORSPEC membrane applied over the primer.

Internal use only - not approved for external applications. Not a waterproofing membrane and not a moisture barrier, and not suitable for continuous hydrostatic pressure. Do not apply where substrate moisture content exceeds 4.5% or ambient relative humidity exceeds 80% - where those limits are exceeded, specify ACTFLEX EP250 at two coats. Not suitable for particleboard, yellow tongue or untreated timber. Do not apply over contaminated, greasy, oily, friable or powdery surfaces without full rectification. Do not use as a screed additive, slurry coat or bonding slurry - specify ACTFLEX 300 for those duties. Do not apply below 5C or above 35C substrate and ambient temperature. Do not dilute unless approved in writing by an authorised FORSPEC representative. Do not leave primed surfaces uncoated for more than 24 hours - abrade lightly and re-apply if exceeded. Protect freshly applied primer from water, condensation and premature traffic.

    Compatibility

    200 Blue is an internal primer for porous substrates - concrete, masonry, fibre cement, and rendered surfaces - before Forspec internal waterproofing membranes. Improves substrate adhesion and stability.

  • Coverage and cure?
    Performance

    Coverage is 4-6 m² per litre. Tack-free in 1-2 hours at 25°C - you must apply the membrane within 24 hours or re-prime. Apply at 80-120 microns WFT. Ready-to-use, no mixing.

  • Why is it coloured blue?
    Installation

    The blue colour provides visual verification that the substrate has been fully primed. On porous substrates the colour may be subtle - check thoroughly with a torch from a low angle to confirm coverage.

  • Which membranes does it pair with?
    Compatibility

    200 Blue is the standard primer for ACTFLEX 906 WPU and other water-based internal wet area membranes. For solvent-based polyurethane membranes use 600 Primer or 700 PU Primer instead.

  • Properties of the cured film?
    Performance

    35-45% solids content with density approximately 1.05 g/cm³. The primer penetrates deeply into porous substrates and reduces dusting before membrane application.
