How to Use

Inject directly into the crack with the mixing nozzle from a caulking gun, or mix the bulk kit with sand and pour and trowel it flush within 5 minutes at 24CConfirm the substrate and environment are completely dry without any presence of moisture
Confirm new concrete is a minimum of 28 days old and old concrete is clean, completely dry and profiled or textured
Remove all dust, dirt, grease, wax and oil from the surfaces to be bonded
Mechanically roughen smooth surfaces with a wire brush or sand paper
Prepare the crack or spall before starting a cartridge or mixing bulk product
Use a wire brush to remove loose concrete or dirt, then blow away or vacuum the dust
For spalls, cut the edges at a 90 degree angle to the surface to avoid a feathered edge, minimum depth 12mm and maximum 75mm
Insert backer rods or a layer of sand in larger, deeper cracks, keeping at least 12mm of product on top
Shake the cartridge vigorously for 10 seconds, then stand it upright for 1 minute
Dispense into a disposable container until both materials flow evenly, then fit the flow control and mixing nozzle
Purge air bubbles through the nozzle before use
For the bulk kit, mix 50% of Part A with 50% of Part B on a slow drill mixer for a maximum of 20 seconds, adding pre-measured dry sand at approximately 2:1 by volume
Place mixed product within 5 minutes at 24C and only mix what can be placed in that time
Inject directly into cracks with the nozzle tip over the crack, allow the adhesive to penetrate and top off as needed
Pour and finish trowel spall repairs immediately, without over trowelling
Broadcast clean dry medium-grade sand on top to add texture or match the existing concrete
Remove excess material shortly after application by scraping or levelling with a blade
Allow to become tack-free in 12 to 20 minutes at 24C, grind smooth after one hour, and allow full cure of approximately 1 hour before any traffic

ARDEX RA 56 is a moisture sensitive product and the substrate must be DRY prior to use; substrate and environment must be completely dry without any presence of moisture, although the cured product can be exposed to moisture. Do not thin with solvents, as this will prevent cure. Do not reuse mixing nozzles or force adhesive out of a hardened nozzle. Colour changes during cure from black to light grey, and in exterior applications the product may develop a greenish tint after cure due to UV exposure. Substrate and ambient air temperature must be between -18C and 46C, and product must be conditioned to 21C - 24C when the work environment falls below 21C. Where a levelling compound is to be laid over the repair, clean dry sand must be broadcast into the wet surface or mixed into the product. This product is considered hazardous: harmful by inhalation, irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin, and may cause SENSITISATION by inhalation and skin contact. Part A carries Poisons Schedule S6. Wear suitable gloves, eye and face protection and use only in well ventilated areas.
