Technical overview

MAXGROUT is a one-component, non-shrink, high-resistance fluid mortar of special cements and well-graded mineral products that is mixed with clean water only. It is poured by gravity to fill voids, bed steel column bases and machinery foundations, anchor bolts and rebar, and to restore structural concrete. It is CE marked and carries Declaration of Performance No. 028.01 as a type CC Class R4 structural repair mortar to EN 1504-3, and it meets the requirements for rebar anchoring to EN 1504-6. Assessment is System 2+, where notified body AENOR 0099 certifies factory production control only. That is a manufacturer declaration against harmonised European standards, not an accredited Australian test certificate. No NATA or CodeMark certificate is held for this product.

Key applications

  • Restoration of concrete structural elements recovering its original shape and function
  • Concrete repairs affected by corrosion of reinforcements or defects by pouring concrete into formwork such as columns, beams, retaining walls and piles
  • Repair of structures damaged by frost, deicing salts and mechanical impacts
  • Repair of structures subject to dynamic loads
  • Anchoring of pillars in concrete prefabricated structures
  • Filling of steel column bases
  • Beam support in bridges
  • Anchoring of bolts, cables, etc.
  • Filling of machinery foundation between concrete and steel plates
  • Void-filling corrective process and consolidation under concrete slabs

Surface suitability

  • Concrete (structurally sound, weak or deteriorated material removed, edges roughened perpendicular to the surface to a minimum depth of 1 cm)
  • Concrete (washed with pressurised water and dampened until saturated before pouring, without puddles)
  • Cement mortar (minimum 28 days curing time for new concrete and mortar before application)

Do not apply MAXGROUT to structurally weak, painted or burnished surfaces without adhesion, and do not apply to water-repellent substrates, bituminous materials, metal, wood, plaster or paint. Do not use MAXGROUT for levelling and finishing of pavements. Allow at least 28 days curing time for new concrete and mortar before application. The optimum application temperature range is 10C to 25C; do not apply when ambient or application surface temperature is below 5C or if such temperatures are expected within 24 hours after placing, and never on frozen or frosted surfaces. Observe the recommended maximum application thicknesses and volumes, minimum 5mm and maximum 40mm per layer. Do not use more water than the recommended ratio, do not add cement or other unspecified compounds, and do not use remains from previous mixtures. Do not mix using violent mechanical means or high-speed mixers, or prolong mixing excessively. Setting times are measured at 20C; higher temperatures shorten these times and lower temperatures increase them. In the presence of water or soil containing sulphates, sea water or wastewater, use the MAXGROUT ANTISULFAT version, and do not use in contact with pure, acidic or carbonated water. Classified Danger: causes severe skin burns and eye damage, may cause an allergic skin reaction and may cause respiratory irritation. Protective rubber gloves and safety goggles must be used to prepare and apply the mixture.

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What is Max Grout used for?
    Compatibility

Max Grout is a non-shrink fluid cementitious grout for filling voids, anchoring bolts and dowels, supporting machinery bases, repairing damaged concrete elements, and sealing cracks and voids in walls, floors, and ceilings.

  • What strength does it achieve?
    Performance

Why trade professionals choose Drizoro

Drizoro is a Spanish manufacturer of cement based waterproofing and concrete repair products, supplied to the Australian trade through The Waterproofing Shop. The range on this site covers Maxseal Foundation and Maxseal Flex, along with repair mortars, grouts, joint products and mesh, used on concrete and masonry where water has to be held back rather than simply shed. Choosing between the rigid and the flexible grade is the key decision, and it comes down to the substrate, the direction of the water and how much movement the structure is likely to see.
