The Drizoro Maxseal Super 25kg is a high-performance, cement-based waterproof coating designed to protect concrete and masonry from water penetration under both positive and negative pressure.

Using advanced osmotic and crystallisation technology, it penetrates deep into the substrate, sealing pores and fine cracks while forming a long-lasting waterproof barrier.

Ideal for demanding environments, Maxseal Super provides durable protection against water ingress, chemicals, and environmental damage.

Crystallises inside the concrete, sealing cracks up to 0.4 mm
Withstands 8.5 bar positive and 2.5 bar negative water pressure (EN 12390-8)
Approved for contact with potable water under EU Directive 2020/2184 and BS-6920

Technical overview

MAXSEAL SUPER is a one-component cement-based waterproof coating with crystallisation and osmotic properties. It penetrates the concrete through its capillary system and crystallises inside, sealing and protecting the structure, and it withstands both high positive and negative hydrostatic pressure. It is CE marked under EN 1504-2 as a mortar for the protection of concrete, coating (C), under Principles 1-PI/1.3, 2-MC/2.2 and 8-IR/8.1, and it is approved for contact with potable water under European Directive 2020/2184, Spanish RD 03/2023 and BS-6920. Declared performance is stated against European test methods. The Technical Bulletin states no AS/NZS 4858 or AS 4654.1 classification for this product.

Key applications

  • Waterproofing and protection of water retaining structures: dams, channels, pipes, swimming pools, tanks and fountains
  • Waterproofing and coating drinking water tanks
  • Tunnels, galleries, basements, elevator shafts and buried structures under indirect hydrostatic pressure
  • Water treatment plants, water processing units and setting tanks
  • Protection against weathering, carbonation, freeze-thaw cycles, de-icing salts and chloride attack
  • Concrete, mortar and masonry in buildings, civil, hydraulic and industrial works
  • Bathrooms, changing rooms, kitchens and other indoor wet areas
  • Dusting onto lean concrete and steel reinforcement to prevent rising damp into a foundation slab

Surface suitability

  • Concrete, fresh or cured (solid, sound, rough and as uniform as possible)
  • Pre-cast concrete and concrete blocks
  • Cement plasters and renders (free of lime or acrylic treatments, which must be removed)
  • Bricks and masonry
  • All substrates thoroughly saturated with water before application, without forming puddles, and coated once the surface has taken on a matt appearance
  • Smooth or poorly absorbent substrates opened up by sandblasting or high-pressure water

Do not apply to water-repellent substrates, bituminous materials, plasters or paints. Do not use MAXSEAL SUPER in contact with very soft water, acid water or carbonic water; where sulfates are present in groundwater, seawater or wastewater, use the MAXSEAL SUPER ANTISULFAT version instead. Do not add cement, admixtures, sand or any other compound, and never add more water to recover workability, remix instead. Do not mix more material than can be applied in 20 to 30 minutes. Observe the minimum and maximum recommended consumptions. Avoid application if rain, water contact, humidity, condensation or dew is expected within 24 hours. Optimum application temperature is 10C to 30C; do not apply below 5C or if such temperatures are expected within 24 hours, and never on frozen or frosted surfaces. Above 30C, in strong winds or at low relative humidity, thoroughly dampen the substrate and avoid direct sun in extreme heat. Allow 3 days before covering with ceramic tile, plaster or earth and gravel, and cure before permanent immersion; the technical data table gives 7 days and the application text gives a minimum of 10 days at 20C and 50% RH, so use the longer figure. Pre-clean the cured surface with a water jet before putting it into service or permanent contact with water. MAXSEAL SUPER is an abrasive compound and is classified Danger, H314 causes severe skin burns and eye damage, H317 may cause an allergic skin reaction, H335 may cause respiratory irritation, so wear protective rubber gloves and safety goggles to prepare and apply it.

Why trade professionals choose Drizoro

Drizoro is a Spanish manufacturer of cement based waterproofing and concrete repair products, supplied to the Australian trade through The Waterproofing Shop. The range on this site covers Maxseal Foundation and Maxseal Flex, along with repair mortars, grouts, joint products and mesh, used on concrete and masonry where water has to be held back rather than simply shed. Choosing between the rigid and the flexible grade is the key decision, and it comes down to the substrate, the direction of the water and how much movement the structure is likely to see.
