Gripset E60 Water Based Epoxy Primer
Gripset E60 is a two-component water-based epoxy primer and moisture barrier designed to protect concrete and mineral substrates from moisture penetration, rising damp, hydrostatic pressure, and water vapour transmission. Suitable for concrete waterproofing, flooring preparation, tiling, protective coatings, and moisture control applications, it provides excellent adhesion while creating a durable epoxy vapour barrier for long-term substrate protection.
Designed for both internal and external use, Gripset E60 can be applied to damp and green concrete, making it an ideal solution where substrate moisture levels exceed allowable installation limits. Once cured, it creates a compatible bonding surface for waterproofing membranes, tile adhesives, floor coatings, self-levelling compounds, and floor finishes.
Available from The Waterproofing Shop with fast Australia-wide delivery, Gripset E60 is a trusted solution for moisture control, concrete waterproofing, and flooring preparation across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Technical overview
Key applications
- Vapour and moisture barrier seal over damp or green concrete and mineral surfaces
- High performance primer with low water vapour transmission properties
- Vapour or moisture barrier primer for waterproofing, flooring and tiling where substrate moisture exceeds maximum allowable levels
- Hydrostatic pressure resistant coating against negative moisture and rising damp
- Protective barrier coating to prevent efflorescence through concrete and mineral surfaces
- Waterproof coating for potable water storage tanks
- High strength repair mortars for patching surface defects, crack repairs and waterproof fillets
Surface suitability
- Concrete (allowed to cure for at least 28 days, clean, sound and free of laitance and curing compounds)
- Concrete block
- Screed and render (allowed to cure for at least 7 days)
- Masonry (pointed flush, voids, holes, pitted sections and non-structural cracks filled and levelled)
- Glass reinforced concrete
- Compressed fibre cement sheeting including James Hardie Scyon Secura external/internal flooring
- Timber
- Damp and green concrete
- Dry or highly porous surfaces including aged concrete or screeds (lightly dampened with a fine water mist)
Do not apply when surface or ambient temperatures are above 35C or below 10C. Cure rates will be dramatically reduced when applied in conditions below 10C or when the relative humidity exceeds 80%. Do not apply when raining or when rain is imminent. Only mix the required amount of product that can be used within the 1-2 hour pot life. Do not apply E60 to surfaces where standing water is present. When sealing surfaces against negative hydrostatic pressure and rising damp, any running water must be first treated with Gripset C-Plug. Not to be used as a trafficable coating. Not to be used as a finished coating subject to permanent UV exposure. When using for potable water storage applications, wash down the cured E60 surface with clean water and dispel before filling. Both parts are hazardous according to the criteria of Safe Work Australia GHS 7. Part A causes skin irritation, serious eye irritation and may cause an allergic skin reaction, and is toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Part B causes skin irritation, causes serious eye damage and may cause an allergic skin reaction. Wear rubber boots, overalls, gloves, chemical goggles and a respirator.
