What is Abelflex used for?
ApplicationAbelflex is a closed-cell polyethylene foam used as an expansion joint filler and bond breaker in concrete slabs, brickwork, bridges, roads and similar construction joints.

How is Abelflex installed in a joint?
ApplicationCut the strip to depth and width with a sharp knife and press it firmly into the joint, leaving the correct depth at the surface for backer rod and sealant where required.

Is Abelflex compatible with liquid sealants?
CompatibilityYes. It is non-bleeding and compatible with most liquid sealants, and it also functions as a bond breaker so the sealant can move with the joint.

How does Abelflex perform over time?
PerformanceIt is non-absorbent, has excellent recovery after compression and is resistant to fungi, insects and most chemicals (AS 2170 approved). Service temperature is –40°C to +95°C.
