Premium single-component polyurethane liquid waterproofing resin designed for roof flashings, upstands, penetrations and complex waterproofing details requiring a seamless, durable finish.

How to Use

Apply the first layer by brush or roller at approx. 2 kg/m2, embed ALSAN FLEECE 165 P, then apply a second layer at approx. 1.0 kg/m2Abrade the metal and mineral junction areas
Remove loose slate chippings on bitumen sheets with a wire brush
Clean the junction areas, remove the dust from the surface and let the cleaning agent flash off before waterproofing work starts
Mark the borders with PE-coated masking tape, also used to decouple joints and delicate material transitions
Sand PVC pipe with sandpaper and clean all metal surfaces with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or MEK
Prime only where required - ALSAN 104 for HDPE surfaced membranes, untreated copper and stainless steel, ALSAN 103 for TPO and EPDM
Mix the product well before use
Apply the first layer by brush or roller at approx. 2 kg/m2, generously at material transitions, in corners and on vertical surfaces
Lay ALSAN FLEECE 165 P, already cut to size, into the fresh embedding layer and work it in immediately with a roller to remove any bubbles
Lap the fleece at least 5 cm and apply resin in between the overlaps
Embed additional layers of fleece on internal and external corners with sufficient material again applied
Check for white patches when the fleece is folded back - they mean too little material was applied
Without any interval, cover the fleece with a second layer at approx. 1.0 kg/m2
Where a different finish is required, apply an additional topping layer at approx. 1 kg/m2 and broadcast the surface protection into the fresh layer
Allow approx. 4 hours at 23C for rainproof and approx. 6 hours for walkable

Technical overview

ALSAN FLASHING QUADRO is a single-component polyurethane resin for waterproofing junctions between horizontal surfaces, up-stands and various roof details. It is applied cold by brush or roller in two layers with ALSAN FLEECE 165 P embedded between them, at a total consumption of 3 kg/m2, and needs no catalyst or activator. Its thixotropic consistency holds on vertical work and it can be applied without a primer to concrete, wood, bitumen, PVC and many metals. The technical data sheet states compliance with the highest solicitation category according to ETAG 005 and root and rhizome resistance according to the FLL test method. It claims no AS/NZS 4858 or AS 4654.1 classification, and no accredited Australian test report is cited.

Apply only between 5C and 35C substrate or ambient, with atmospheric moisture 80% maximum, and keep the substrate temperature at least 3C above the dew point during application and curing. Maximum overlay time at 23C is 72 hours, after which the surface must be prepared with ALSAN System Cleaning Agent. Membranes with an HDPE surface, untreated copper and stainless steel require ALSAN 104 primer; TPO and EPDM require ALSAN 103. PVC pipe must be sanded and all metal surfaces cleaned with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or MEK, free of oxidised bitumen. Once opened, the product only has a limited shelf life.
