SUPERFLEX Collars are pre-formed flexible rubber collars designed to seal around pipes and penetrations passing through waterproofed surfaces. The 12x12cm collar compresses onto the pipe and bonds to the membrane.

Technical overview

FORSPEC SUPERFLEX COLLAR is a pre-formed thermoplastic elastomer waterproofing collar laminated with a felt bonding layer on both faces, for pipe and tap penetrations. A central elastic zone stretches from a 10 mm penetration up to 40 mm, so the collar grips the pipe under its own recovery. It is a detailing component and not a waterproofing membrane, so it carries no AS/NZS 4858 or AS 4654.1 classification. Compliance is established by the membrane system in which it is embedded, installed in accordance with AS 3740:2021 and the National Construction Code, or AS 4654.2-2012 for external above-ground work. No accredited test report is held; the performance figures are indicative Forspec R&D characteristics.

The membrane must be wet during embedment. Do not install into tacky, semi-dry, skinned or cured membrane, as the felt will not saturate and the collar will not bond. Not a membrane: the collar must be embedded within a liquid membrane system and is not designed for stand-alone use. Not a substitute for proper sealing of large gaps or voids, which must be filled with ACTFLEX 75FC or ACTFLEX MS PRO before the collar is installed. The pipe or penetration must be rigid and securely fixed. Do not stretch beyond the 40 mm expansion limit. Deburr the pipe and remove sharp edges that may puncture the collar. Not suitable for UV-exposed applications without protection. Not suitable for negative pressure waterproofing. Do not tile or cover until the membrane has reached full cure per the membrane TDS.
