A super flexible blade is made to lay filler flat, so it is not the tool for chipping or levering. Uni-Pro's own preparation guidance is that before filling or painting, all working surfaces should be clean and dry, and that old paint, varnish and loose particles are removed with a scraper or blade first. The rosewood handle is timber, so do not leave it soaking in water or solvent.
