ARDEX BG 90 GP is a general purpose, high-strength, Class A cement-based construction grout. It expands while it is plastic and is shrinkage compensated once hardened. Change the water and the same bag mixes stiff, plastic or flowable.

How to Use

Add the 20kg bag to the measured clean water, mix 3 to 5 minutes with a heavy duty mixer at 400 to 500 rpm, then dry pack, trowel or pour continuously from one side within the 20 minute working timeConfirm the grout thickness is between 12mm and 100mm
Remove all surface laitance and any damaged or contaminated concrete
Clean the substrate of grease, oil, dust and other contaminants such as coatings and scale
Abrade or roughen the substrate by mechanical methods such as grit blasting or scabbling to create maximum bond
Pre-soak the prepared substrate for preferably 24 hours and at least 2 hours
Build good quality rigid watertight formwork with sealable outlets so the pre-soak water can be removed
Keep any form release agent off the prepared concrete substrate
Remove excess freestanding water so the substrate is mat damp without standing water
Confirm ambient and substrate temperatures are between 10C and 35C
Measure the appropriate amount of clean water into a clean pail, then add the 20kg bag to the water while mixing
Mix for 3 to 5 minutes with a heavy duty mixer on low speed at 400 to 500 rpm until smooth and fully homogeneous
Place the mixed product immediately and within the 20 minute working time at 23C, discarding any material showing signs of stiffening
For trowel or dry pack baseplate work, finish the edging at a 45 degree slope from the underside of the baseplate and do not apply past the baseplate
For flowable work, pour from one side with a continuous flow to eliminate air pockets and residual pre-soak water
Never use vibrators with this product
Protect the freshly installed grout from excessive moisture loss for at least the first 7 days, using curing compounds or wet hessian covered by plastic sheeting
Clean all tools in water immediately after use

ARDEX BG 90 GP is a general purpose, high-strength, Class A construction grout. The cement-based formulation contains additives that provide positive expansion while the grout is in its plastic state, and it is shrinkage compensated in the hardened state. It is designed for applications between 12mm and 100mm thickness and can be mixed stiff, plastic or flowable so the same bag can be dry packed, poured or pumped. It is used for void filling and dry packing, column bases, precast panel connections, base plates and equipment support. It is not designed for structural repair applications. ARDEX publishes the compressive and flexural strengths as product characteristics with no test standard, test report number or accredited certification quoted.

Surface suitability

Do not add additional water to the suggested amount. Flowable applications must be completed in a continuous operation to greatly reduce air entrapment. Keep unrestrained areas to a minimum as this may reduce the final compressive strength and may cause cracking. Both setting and curing times will be affected by colder and warmer ambient and substrate temperatures. Substrate and ambient temperature must be a minimum of 10C and should not exceed 35C. Large or deep volumes of grout can generate excessive heat whilst hardening. This product is not designed for structural repair applications, refer to the ARDEX Concrete Repair Mortar range. Vibrators must never be used with this product. It is critical to protect the freshly installed grout from excessive moisture loss for the first 7 days minimum, or it may shrink and lose strength. Avoid applying past the baseplate as expansion and contraction of the baseplate may cause cracking. Hazardous chemical: may cause irritation and an allergic reaction to the skin, serious eye injury and irritation to the respiratory system. Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye and face protection and avoid inhaling dust.
