Frequently asked questions
-
When do I use Maxplug?
CompatibilityMaxplug stops actively running water leaks in cracks, holes, broken pipe penetrations, and seeping joints in concrete and masonry. Used as the emergency 'plug' before applying permanent waterproofing over the top.
-
How fast does it set?
PerformanceMaxplug sets in 3-5 minutes at 20°C. Cold water slows the reaction; warm water accelerates it. The exothermic warmth on your gloved hand tells you setting has started.
-
How is it applied?
InstallationDovetail or square-cut the crack 4cm deep × 3-4cm wide. Mix with 28% water by weight to a stiff putty, then press into the crack by hand and hold for ~30 seconds until setting starts. Do not pour - hand-press only.
-
Is it safe for potable water tanks?
CompatibilityYes. Maxplug is non-toxic and approved for potable water contact - suitable for repairing drinking water tank leaks and water-treatment infrastructure.
-
What strength does it achieve?
Compliance22.5 MPa compressive at 3 days, rising to 40.7 MPa at 28 days. Flexural 5.7 MPa at 7 days. Chloride-free formulation, non-corrosive to rebar.
Why trade professionals choose Drizoro
Drizoro is a Spanish manufacturer of cement based waterproofing and concrete repair products, supplied to the Australian trade through The Waterproofing Shop. The range on this site covers Maxseal Foundation and Maxseal Flex, along with repair mortars, grouts, joint products and mesh, used on concrete and masonry where water has to be held back rather than simply shed. Choosing between the rigid and the flexible grade is the key decision, and it comes down to the substrate, the direction of the water and how much movement the structure is likely to see.
