Gripset B09 is a cold-applied polymer modified bituminous asphalt resurfacer that restores oxidised asphalt, improves durability, enhances appearance and extends pavement life.

How to Use

Stir product before using, then apply by spray unit, manual squeegee or self-propelled mechanical squeegee at 1 litre/2m2 in a 2 coat application.Confirm all substrates are structurally sound, stable, dry and clean
Remove dirt, dust, loose material, de-bonded coatings, foreign matter and sharp protruding surfaces
Use proprietary degreasers and pressure cleaning over any surfaces containing oil, grease or wax residues
Where surfaces are affected by algae or moss, use proprietary organic growth removal compounds with pressure cleaning
Make good pavement surface repairs with Gripset Patch-phalt repair compound
Repair all cracks using the Gripset B26 Crack Repair method
Stir the product before using
Where cement is being added, combine cement powder and water to form a wet slurry mix
Add 750mls of cement slurry per 15litre pail and stir at medium speed using a drill with paddle mix attachment until fully incorporated and an even dispersion is achieved
Use the cement modified product within 4 hours
Apply the first coat by spray unit, manual squeegee or self-propelled mechanical squeegee at 1 litre/2m2
Allow 30 minutes re-coat time
Apply a second coat for optimum durability
Allow 4-6 hours for a weatherproof film
Keep vehicle and pedestrian traffic off for 24 hours
Clean tools in water while wet; dried product needs to be removed mechanically or by solvent

Technical overview

Gripset B09 is a cold applied bituminous surface treatment designed to rejuvenate oxidised substrates by replenishing the binder content in the asphalt layer. It is applied by spray unit, manual squeegee or self-propelled mechanical squeegee units at 1 litre/2m2, ideally in a 2 coat application, over asphalt driveways, car parks, footpaths, bicycle paths, airfields and sports surfaces. Portland cement slurry can be added to offer greater durability and rapid water ponding resistance when rain is imminent. The Gripset data sheet cites no Australian Standard, no test method and no accredited test certificate for this product, so every published figure is a manufacturer value. Gripset B09 is not to be used as a waterproof membrane.

Not to be used in areas subject to negative hydrostatic pressure. Not to be used as a waterproof membrane. Once cement slurry has been added the contents must be used within 4 hours. Keep vehicle and pedestrian traffic off for 24 hours. Hazardous according to the criteria of Safe Work Australia GHS 7: causes skin irritation and causes serious eye irritation. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye/face protection.
