How to Use

Cold lay peel and stick onto primed surfaces, removing creases and air bubbles with a flat trowel, heavy roller or float, with a minimum 50mm overlap at all sheet joins.Confirm all surfaces are clean, sound, smooth, dry and free from loose material, dirt, dust, oil, grease, wax residues, laitance, curing compounds, release agents, existing coatings, moss, algae and sharp protruding objects
Mechanically remove structurally unsound layers and surface contaminants by grinding, abrasive blasting or equivalent methods
Point masonry surfaces flush and fill and level all voids, holes, pitted sections, heavy undulations and non-structural cracks
Allow concrete to cure at least 28 days and cement render or sand cement screeds at least 7 days
Prime porous absorbent surfaces with Gripset GP Primer at a minimum 1litre/8-10m2, non porous surfaces with Gripset OP Primer at a minimum 1 litre per 12m2
For green or damp surfaces prime with Gripset Xpress H20 Primer Plus at 1 litre per 6m2, or Gripset E60 at 1 litre per 3m2 per coat and install the sheet within 72 hours of the dried film
Test and accept adhesion of the sheet over a small test area before applying to all surfaces
Measure the floor area, cut lengths with a sharp knife or scissors and re-roll the sheet ready for laying
Lay the first roll straight, using a string or laser line where it does not abut a wall surface
On sloped or graded surfaces start at the lowest point nearest the drainage point and work upwards so overlaps aid drainage
Remove approximately 100-200mm of release paper from the rear butyl rubber side, tack onto the surface and unroll, removing creases and air bubbles with a flat trowel, heavy roller or float
Ensure the sheet is well pressed at edges and termination points
Overlap all vertical and horizontal sheet joins a minimum 50mm and press with a small hand held vinyl roller
Coat all sheet overlaps with a 100mm wide liberal coat of a suitable Gripset liquid membrane applied centrally across the overlap
Cut the sheet over pipes, penetrations and fixtures, bond it around the fixture and seal with a liberal coat of a suitable Gripset liquid under tile membrane
Lay the sheet over floor wastes and adhere to both the floor surface and flange, then cut the aperture so the interface between substrate and floor waste is bridged and sealed
Detail perimeter wall and floor junctions with Elastoproof B50 Joint Band or BRW PF Tape, encapsulated in a Gripset liquid under tile membrane
Protect exposed terminated sheet edges with BRW PF Tape or RLA Waterproof Bandage and encapsulate with a Gripset liquid under tile membrane
Tile directly over the sheet using polymer modified cement based adhesives

A high tack butyl rubber backing and front fabric lamination give outstanding waterproof properties and resistance to vibration, movement and flexing, and support the direct application of toppings and tiled finishes. It is cold lay applied with no torching or heat welding, over primed surfaces, with a minimum 50mm overlap at all sheet joins. The TDS records a Class II membrane classification and a PASS against both AS4858 and AS 4654.1, with tensile strength to AS 4654.1 Appendix A and elongation to AS1145.3, but cites no accredited test report number, so all values are published as manufacturer test data.
