Schomburg AQUAFIN-F 12kg Rising Damp Liquid
AQUAFIN®-F is a ready-to-use silicification solution designed to create a retroactive horizontal barrier against rising damp in masonry. The rising damp injection liquid deeply saturates the substrate, forming a durable barrier that prevents moisture from seeping upward, effectively protecting the area from dampness. It prevents capillary water transport, ensuring long-term moisture protection. This solvent-free, vapour-permeable formulation deeply penetrates masonry, offering high durability and ease of application. AQUAFIN®-F can be applied using pressureless or low-pressure injection techniques, making it suitable for various construction and renovation projects.

Technical overview
Key applications
- Horizontal barrier against rising damp in masonry work
- Pressureless injection against rising damp
- Low pressure injection techniques under 10 bar
- Masonry with moisture penetration up to 95%
- Absorbent natural stone masonry
- Dense quarry stone masonry
- Double-sided injection to masonry over 60 cm thick
Surface suitability
- Masonry work (drill holes set to cover at least one bed joint, and a minimum of 2 bed joints in thicker masonry work)
- Absorbent natural stone masonry (drill holes placed in the stone)
- Dense quarry stone masonry (drill holes placed in the joints)
- Low or non absorbent masonry (drill holes arranged in two levels in the joint area, height offset under 8 cm)
- Masonry work with larger voids, chamber stones, cracks or open joints (pressed out with ASOCRET-BM before drilling)
- Masonry over 60 cm thick (double-sided injection or pressure injection)
AQUAFIN-F is not suitable for exposed surfaces such as concrete, masonry work or plaster; it is an injection product for the masonry cross section, not a surface treatment. Protect surfaces that are not to be treated. The renovation procedure follows WTA technical data sheet 4-10 and preliminary investigations such as moisture balance and salt analysis are generally required before injecting. Apply only at a substrate and application temperature from 5C to 30C. For wall thicknesses over 60 cm use double-sided injection or pressure injection. This product is classified Danger: H314 causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Do not breathe dusts or mists, avoid contact with the eyes and skin, and wear protective gloves of natural latex, polychloroprene or nitrile rubber, protective clothing and safety goggles to DIN EN 166. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight, keep out of the reach of children and do not allow the product to enter the sewer system.

Frequently asked questions
-
What is AQUAFIN-F used for?
ApplicationAQUAFIN-F is a silane-based liquid used to create a retrospective horizontal damp-proof course in masonry. It is applied by pouring or low-pressure injection into pre-drilled holes.
-
How much AQUAFIN-F do I need?
Coverage & CoatsApproximately 15 kg per m² of wall cross-section. For a typical 360 mm thick wall, that works out to about 5.5 kg per linear metre of wall.
-
What masonry types is it suitable for?
CompatibilityIt is effective on brick, stone, concrete and mixed masonry up to 95% moisture saturation, which is why it is widely used on heritage and modern buildings alike.
-
Does AQUAFIN-F need to be mixed?
ApplicationNo. It is a ready-to-use liquid. Substrate and material temperature should be between 5°C and 30°C during application.
-
Is AQUAFIN-F safe to use indoors?
SafetyYes. The product is solvent-free and vapour-permeable, so treated walls continue to breathe. Always follow the SDS for ventilation and PPE guidance.
