How to Use

Apply with a trowel, a brush or a roller in two layers, each at a minimum wet film thickness of 0.8mmConfirm concrete is fully cured (28 days) with a minimum hardness of 24 MPa (3500 psi)
Confirm the surface is sound, clean and free of dust or debris
Prepare the concrete surface to a concrete surface profile (ICRI CSP) of 3 or 4, shot blasting recommended
Repair concrete with appropriate products where needed
Sand PVC pipe with sandpaper
Clean all metal surfaces with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)
Prime membranes with an HDPE surface with ELASTOCOL STICK
Mix well the product before use
Apply the first layer with a trowel, a brush or a roller at a minimum wet film thickness of 0.8mm
At transitions, changes in plan and junctions between two supports, install POLYFLEECE into the first layer, thick enough to completely immerse the reinforcement
Cover POLYFLEECE immediately with a second layer of ALSAN FLASHING until saturation
Apply the second layer at a minimum wet film thickness of 0.8mm
Apply the third layer after waiting 3h or when the second coat is tacky free, where POLYFLEECE or granules are used
Cover the top coat with roofing granules for aesthetic purposes if required
Do not install if rain or snow is predicted within 12 hours after the installation

ALSAN FLASHING is a waterproofing one-component polyurethane / bitumen resin dedicated to roof flashings and details where it is difficult to apply waterproofing membranes. It is ready to use and applied with a trowel, a brush or a roller in two layers, each at a minimum wet film thickness of 0.8mm, or three layers where POLYFLEECE reinforcement or granules are used. The data sheet states compliance with AS 4654.1 and lists results to AS 1145, AS 1580.403.2, AS 4654.2, Appendix A4 of AS 4654, a CSIRO Moving Joint Test and several ASTM methods, alongside Appraisal No.1145 [2021]. It carries no accredited test report number, and the asterisked results are published for the product reinforced with Polyfleece.

All metal surfaces must be cleaned with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) and be free of oxydized bitumen. Do not use if rain or snow is predicted within 12 hours after the installation. For proper curing, minimum application temperature is 5C. Service temperature: -30 to 150C. The SDS classifies the product as a Flammable Liquid Category 2 with a flash point of 10.5C, a skin and respiratory sensitiser, and suspected of causing cancer.
