Technical overview

SWP Ultra Masonry Block Sealer is a penetrating water dispersed polyester polymer, water-borne polyurethane and acrylic that when dry fills the voids and coats the interior particles of the matrix leaving a slight sheen. It is a single component system, applied liberally with a low pressure sprayer at no more than 20 psi and back rolled to even out the material, at 4 to 5 m2 per litre. Curing and penetration take 5 to 7 days. The SDS classifies it as non-hazardous with an inert main ingredient. No Australian Standard sets performance requirements for penetrating masonry sealers of this type, no accredited test certificate is held, and all published figures are the manufacturer's own values.

Always test on surfaces prior to application. Apply in good weather when air and surface temperature are above 5C and the surface temperature is at least 5C above the dew point, and the temperature must remain above 5C for 24 hours after application. Not intended to be used submerged in water for extended periods. If the surface does not absorb water then there is possibly another sealer applied to the surface and Ultra Masonry Block Sealer should not be applied. Do not add water; it is a single component system supplied at normal viscosity. To paint over a treated area use only a good quality acrylic, oil-base, epoxy or urethane paint. Do not use latex paint over an Ultra coated surface, as latex makes a weak bond especially in exterior applications. The manufacturer recommends chemical gloves, eye protection and rubber boots.
