Sugar soap is an alkaline cleaning agent used to prepare painted and unpainted surfaces before repainting. It removes grease, nicotine staining, soot, dirt, and surface films that would compromise paint adhesion.

The 3 in 1 formulation cleans, degreases, and degosses (removes the gloss surface) in a single application - prep work that traditionally needed three separate products and steps.

Dilute per the label (typically 1:10 with water for general cleaning), apply with a sponge or cloth, scrub stained areas, then rinse with clean water. Allow surfaces to dry fully before painting.

How to Use

Apply to the surface to be cleaned at the dilution required, allow time for penetration, then wipe clean with a damp cloth and rinse with clean water.Read the pack label and pick the dilution for the job
For mopping, dilute 200 to 250 mls into a 10 litre bucket of water, 50 to 1
For pre-paint cleaning and heavily soiled surfaces, dilute 500 mls into a 10 litre bucket of water, 20 to 1
For spray and wipe, use at full strength
Test fabric for colour fastness before using on fabric
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection
Apply to the surface to be cleaned at the dilution required

Technical overview

UNi-PRO 3 in 1 Sugar Soap is a super-concentrated, high foaming, non-caustic degreaser, free of petrochemical solvents. The Safety Data Sheet describes it as an aqueous blend of proprietary surfactants and alkalis, recommended for use as a general purpose cleaner/degreaser, and it is supplied strongly alkaline at pH 12 to 12.5. Uni-Pro publishes it for three jobs: mopping liquid, pre-paint cleaner and spray and wipe, diluted with water to suit the job and rinsed off with clean water. It is Australian made and sold in 500ml, 1L and 4L. No technical data sheet is published for this product and no accredited test certificate is held.
