Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs
  • What products do these brushes work with?
    Compatibility

Wood Brushes (100mm) are suitable for water-based and solvent-based waterproofing primers, liquid membranes, sealers, and acrylic paints. Use a fresh brush for each compatible product family to avoid contamination.

  • How many uses can I get from one brush?
    Performance

With proper cleaning between coats (water for water-based, solvent for PU/epoxy), a brush can be reused 5-10 times. Once bristles splay or lose density, replace - poor brush condition causes inconsistent membrane thickness.

  • What is the 100mm brush ideal for?
    Installation

100mm is the standard size for cutting in around penetrations (floor wastes, pipes), detailing corners and junctions, and priming small areas. For larger flat areas, use a 230mm roller for speed.

  • Can I use these for cementitious membranes?
    Compatibility

Brushes are not recommended for cementitious membranes - use a notched trowel or a stiff masonry brush for those. These brushes work best with liquid-applied membranes and primers.

  • Why wood handles?
    Performance

Wood handles provide good grip in wet conditions, are comfortable for extended use, and are sourced from sustainable timber. They also balance well in the hand for detail work.
