Technical overview

SOLOPLAN is a one component, cement-based self-levelling floor levelling compound for levelling uneven substrates in interior areas, over heated and unheated substrates. It is classified CT-C25-F6 after DIN EN 13813, with a flexural strength of at least 6 N/mm2 and a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm2 at 28 days, and a reaction to fire classification of Efl under DIN EN 13501-1. It is applied by hand or by mixing pump at layer thicknesses of approx. 2 to 20 mm, in one application step, and takes foot traffic after approx. 3 hours. The only test certificate the sheet lists is an EMICODE licence for low emissions. No accredited AS or AS/NZS test report is cited.

For interior use only. The substrate must be dry, load-bearing, firm, grippy, free of cracks and free of adhesion inhibiting substances, and must correspond to the load-bearing capacities in accordance with DIN EN1991-1-1. The indoor temperature and floor temperature must be at least 5C during application and during the following week, and air dehumidifiers may not be used during the first 3 days. The installation location must be ventilated, but draughts and direct solar radiation must be avoided during application and the hardening process. Excessively rapid water removal, from heated spaces or strongly-absorptive substrates, leads to a risk of crack formation; the fresh equalising layer should be protected from excessively rapid drying and should be covered with tiles within 28 days. For calcium sulphate screeds the carbide method moisture content may not exceed 0.5%, or 0.3% with a floor heating system, and Schomburg recommends SOLOPLAN-30-CA instead for calcium sulphate bound substrates. Direct contact between cement mortar and magnesite screeds destroys the magnesite screed, so prime with ASODUR-GBM epoxy resin and blind with quartz sand first. Only use clean tools and clean water. Contains portland cement and calcium sulfoaluminate cement. It causes serious eye damage, causes skin irritation and may cause respiratory irritation; avoid breathing dust and wear protective gloves, eye protection and face protection.
