How to Use

Apply to the primed substrate and distribute evenly with a flat trowel or surface rake during the 30 minute pot life, at the full layer thickness in one application step, then de-aerate with a spiked roller.Check the application substrate and determine the moisture content using the CM method
Confirm the substrate is dry, load-bearing, firm, grippy, free of cracks and free of adhesion inhibiting substances
Remove impurities, adhesion-reducing substances and binder accumulations or laitance layers
Prime absorbent substrates with ASO-Unigrund-GE, ASO-Unigrund-K or ASO-Unigrund-PLUS
Prime non-absorbent substrates with ASO-Unigrund-S or ASO-Unigrund-PLUS
Work the primer into the substrate meticulously and allow thorough drying, to reliably avoid pore formation
Put the water into a clean mixing bucket and mix with the powder component with a stirrer to produce a homogeneous, lump-free mass
Scrape the unmixed material from the side walls with a trowel and feed it back to the mixing process
Mix for approx. 3 to 5 minutes
Set level points, so that it will be possible to check the desired height level while the mixture is still fresh
Apply to the primed substrate and use a suitable tool to distribute it evenly during the pot life
Apply the relevant layer thickness in one application step
Use a spiked roller or other suitable tools to de-aerate the layer that is still liquid
Carry out any skimming operation when the first layer can be walked on but is still somewhat damp, seen by the darker colour
Protect the setting material against rapid water removal from high room temperature, direct solar radiation and draughts
Detach border, field, building separation and movement joints with suitable means such as RD-SK50 edging strips
Cut crack control joints after the compound has hardened, to up to a third of the introduced layer thickness

Technical overview

SOLOPLAN is a one component, cement-based self-levelling floor levelling compound for levelling uneven substrates in interior areas, over heated and unheated substrates. It is classified CT-C25-F6 after DIN EN 13813, with a flexural strength of at least 6 N/mm2 and a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm2 at 28 days, and a reaction to fire classification of Efl under DIN EN 13501-1. It is applied by hand or by mixing pump at layer thicknesses of approx. 2 to 20 mm, in one application step, and takes foot traffic after approx. 3 hours. The only test certificate the sheet lists is an EMICODE licence for low emissions. No accredited AS or AS/NZS test report is cited.

For interior use only. The substrate must be dry, load-bearing, firm, grippy, free of cracks and free of adhesion inhibiting substances, and must correspond to the load-bearing capacities in accordance with DIN EN1991-1-1. The indoor temperature and floor temperature must be at least 5C during application and during the following week, and air dehumidifiers may not be used during the first 3 days. The installation location must be ventilated, but draughts and direct solar radiation must be avoided during application and the hardening process. Excessively rapid water removal, from heated spaces or strongly-absorptive substrates, leads to a risk of crack formation; the fresh equalising layer should be protected from excessively rapid drying and should be covered with tiles within 28 days. For calcium sulphate screeds the carbide method moisture content may not exceed 0.5%, or 0.3% with a floor heating system, and Schomburg recommends SOLOPLAN-30-CA instead for calcium sulphate bound substrates. Direct contact between cement mortar and magnesite screeds destroys the magnesite screed, so prime with ASODUR-GBM epoxy resin and blind with quartz sand first. Only use clean tools and clean water. Contains portland cement and calcium sulfoaluminate cement. It causes serious eye damage, causes skin irritation and may cause respiratory irritation; avoid breathing dust and wear protective gloves, eye protection and face protection.
