Technical overview
Key applications
- Rooftops
- Plaza decks
- Balconies
- Retaining Walls
- Top layer for single-ply waterproofing assemblies
- Top layer for multi-layer waterproofing assemblies
- Vertical and horizontal waterproofing, exposed and protected
- Below grade applications
Surface suitability
- Concrete (fully cured, Concrete Surface Profile CSP 3 to 6, primed with ANTIROCK PRIMER)
- Metal (primed with ANTIROCK PRIMER)
- Base sheet membrane (no primer required when installed as top layer)
Do not install heat welded membranes directly onto combustible substrate. No work should be started until all surfaces are smooth, dry, and free of ice, snow or any other substance that may prevent the membrane from adhering properly. The substrate must have a minimum 1% gradient to ensure that water drains to drainage outlets, and concrete must be fully cured with a Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) between 3 and 6 as per International Concrete Repair Institute. An adhesion test is recommended prior to installation, and commencement of installation shall be taken as acceptance of the substrate by the Applicator. Rolls must be stored upright with the selvedge side on top and, if stored outdoors, covered with an opaque protection cover after removal of the delivery packaging.
Calculate your coverage
You will need:
Soprema Soprasun Plus 4.5
10 m × 1 m roll (45 kg)
Total coverage: 0 m²
This is an estimate only. Add 10% for wastage.

Frequently asked questions
-
Is Soprasun Plus 4.5 suitable as a top-layer cap sheet?
ApplicationYes — the slate-granulated mineral surface provides UV protection, making it ideal as the exposed cap sheet in 2-ply torch-on roofing systems.
-
What goes underneath?
CompatibilitySoprasun Plus 3 (sanded or plain) is the standard base sheet, torch-welded directly to the primed substrate before cap sheet installation.
-
How much area per roll?
Coverage & CoatsMineral-faced rolls are 1 m × 7.5 m (≈ 7.5 m² per roll). Confirm roll length on delivery as Soprema occasionally vary lengths between batches.
-
How quickly can foot traffic occur after install?
Cure & Dry TimeOnce the bitumen has cooled (typically 1-2 hours depending on ambient temperature) the membrane is fully bonded and trafficable.
-
How long can rolls be stored before use?
StorageRolls keep indefinitely when stored upright in their delivery packaging, away from direct sunlight and heat.
-
Which standards does the cap sheet meet?
PerformanceTested and compliant to AS 4654.1 with supporting ASTM data; passes durability, dimensional stability, watertightness and heat ageing.
Why trade professionals choose Soprema
Soprema is a French waterproofing manufacturer whose torch applied and liquid applied systems are supplied to the Australian trade. The range stocked here covers Soprasun Plus sheet membranes for roof and balcony work, Colphene 3000 for below ground and retaining wall work, Alsan Flashing liquid detailers for junctions and penetrations, and the Elastocol Stick and AntiRock primers that go underneath them. It is a system led range, so most jobs pull a primer, a membrane and a detailing product from the same brand.
