Key applications
- Applying MAXSEAL cement-based waterproof coating
- Applying MAXSEAL FLEX flexible waterproof coating
- Applying MAXSEAL FLEX-M one component flexible waterproof coating
- Applying MAXSEAL SUPER
- Applying MAXSEAL FOUNDATION to exterior underground concrete and masonry
- Working the coating into pores and hollows so it fills and covers all pores and voids
- Laying down a thick, homogeneous and continuous coating rather than a painted-out film
Surface suitability
- Concrete and masonry being coated with Drizoro cement-based waterproof coatings
- Porous surfaces where the coating has to be worked into pores and hollows
- Exterior underground concrete and masonry coated with MAXSEAL FOUNDATION
Work the coating on in a thick layer to form a homogeneous and continuous coating. Do not spread the product as if it were paint, and once the mortar has been placed and spread evenly do not go over it again with the brush or broom. Clean the brush with water immediately after use; once the coating cures it can only be removed by mechanical methods. The Drizoro cement-based coatings this brush is used with are abrasive compounds, so protective rubber gloves and goggles must be worn to mix and apply them.

Frequently asked questions
-
What is this brush designed for?
CompatibilityThe Drizoro 150mm Application Brush is a stiff polyester block brush designed for applying Drizoro cementitious slurry membranes - Maxseal, Maxseal Foundation, Maxseal Flex, Maxseal Flex M, and slurry prime coats.
-
Why not use a paint brush?
PerformanceCementitious slurries need stiff bristles to work the slurry into the substrate pores. Standard paint brushes are too soft and the slurry just sits on the surface without bonding. The Drizoro brush is purpose-built for the job.
-
How do I use it?
InstallationLoad the brush with slurry, then work in all directions (criss-cross pattern) to fully wet out the substrate. Apply firm pressure to force the slurry into pores. Clean immediately with water after each session.
-
What products does it pair with?
CompatibilityUsed with Drizoro Maxseal Foundation, Maxseal Flex (2-component), Maxseal Flex M (1-component), Max Quick Roll, and any other Drizoro cementitious slurry product.
-
How long does it last?
PerformanceWith proper cleaning after each use, the brush lasts for multiple jobs. Replace when bristles bend permanently, splay out, or the binding loosens. Trade users typically rotate 2-3 brushes through cleaning cycles.
Why trade professionals choose Drizoro
Drizoro is a Spanish manufacturer of cement based waterproofing and concrete repair products, supplied to the Australian trade through The Waterproofing Shop. The range on this site covers Maxseal Foundation and Maxseal Flex, along with repair mortars, grouts, joint products and mesh, used on concrete and masonry where water has to be held back rather than simply shed. Choosing between the rigid and the flexible grade is the key decision, and it comes down to the substrate, the direction of the water and how much movement the structure is likely to see.
