MAXSEAL FLEX is a two-component flexible cementitious waterproof coating for concrete and masonry. Component A is a water-based special acrylic resin and Component B is a mortar of special cements, additives and well-graded aggregates. It bridges microcracks and shrinkage cracks, withstands 10 bar positive and 3.5 bar negative water pressure, and is approved for contact with potable water under EU Directive 2020/2184 and BS-6920.

Technical overview

MAXSEAL FLEX is a two-component flexible cementitious waterproof coating for concrete and masonry that works against both positive and negative water pressure. Component A is a water-based special acrylic resin and Component B is a mortar of special cements, additives and well-graded aggregates. It is CE marked under EN 1504-2 as a mortar for the protection of concrete, classified CM P O2 under UNE EN 14891 for use beneath ceramic tiling, and approved for contact with potable water under European Directive 2020/2184, Spanish RD 03/2023 and BS-6920. Declared performance is stated against European, ASTM and UNE test methods. The Technical Data Sheet states no AS/NZS 4858 or AS 4654.1 classification for this product.

Surface suitability

Do not apply over waterproofed, bituminous substrates or resins. Do not apply if rain, water contact, humidity or dew is expected within 24 hours of application. Optimum application temperature is 5C to 35C - do not apply below 5C or if lower temperatures are expected in the following 24 hours, and never on frozen or flooded surfaces. Do not add water, cement, admixtures, sand or any other compound; remix to recover workability but never add more water. Do not mix more material than can be applied in 20-30 minutes. Minimum and maximum consumption recommendations must be respected. Keep the coating moist for at least 24 hours after application using polyethylene sheets or damp burlap, and do not apply curing agents. Allow 14 days before permanent contact with water and wash the surface with water before putting it into service. Root penetration is only withstood when properly reinforced with fibre glass mesh.

  • Where can I use Maxseal Flex?
    Compatibility

    Maxseal Flex is a flexible 2-component cementitious membrane for swimming pools, water tanks, basements, bathrooms, balconies, terraces, planter boxes, and retaining walls - any structure needing flexibility plus waterproofing.

  • What's the coverage rate?
    Performance

    Apply 2.0-3.0 kg/m² total in two crossed coats at 1.0-1.5 kg/m² per coat (approximately 1mm per coat). Coverage depends on substrate porosity.

  • How is it mixed?
    Installation

    Maxseal Flex is two-component - Component A liquid acrylic resin plus Component B cement powder. Mix Component A first, then slowly add Component B while mixing with a slow-speed drill until homogeneous.

  • Recoat window between coats?
    Compatibility

    Apply the second coat between 16 hours minimum and 3 days maximum after the first. If exceeded, dampen the surface and apply a third refresh coat.

  • Standards compliance?
