How to Use

Mix by hand to a paste or putty mortar consistency, approximately 0.5kg per application, then press firmly into the opening and hold until setConfirm surfaces are free of loose material, de-bonded coatings, curing membranes and agents, release agents, wax residues, foreign particles, laitance, algae, moss, grime, oils, animal fats and grease remains
Cut or grind cracks, joints or holes open to a minimum width and depth of 20mm
Increase the depth to a minimum 40mm for high volume leaks
Cut the sides square or form a dove tail section where possible
Leave the surface rough with a good mechanical key, avoiding smooth and feather edge finishes
Flush the area with water to remove all loose surface particles and foreign matter
Dampen the treated area with clean water before applying Gripset C-Plug
Place the powder into an empty pail and add mixing water at approximately 20C, allowing approximately 150mls per 1kg of product
Mix no more than one handful, approximately 0.5kg of powder, per application
Mix quickly by hand with a spatula or similar to a paste or putty mortar consistency
Hold the material in a gloved hand until a slight warmth is felt or signs of setting occur
Press C-Plug into the opening and apply firm pressure, then slowly remove the hand once set
Allow a final setting time of 2-4 minutes
Dampen the set plug with clean water by mist or damp sponge for 15 minutes
For larger areas work from the outside to the centre until the total area is covered
Sand or grind the set plug back to the existing structural contours once the active leak has stopped
For active leaks at wall/floor junctions cut the crack or joint out at a minimum 20mm wide and form a cove at approximately 40mm wide
Cover with Gripset C-1P flexible cementitious membrane for long term protection against future dampness and seepage

Technical overview

Gripset C-Plug is a rapid setting, non shrink, cement based compound that forms an instant waterproof seal against active water leaks under pressure through holes, cracks and similar openings in concrete and masonry. It is mixed by hand to a paste or putty mortar consistency and pressed into the opening, with a final set of 2 to 4 minutes and a compressive strength of 8MPa at 30 minutes rising to 35MPa at 28 days. It does not promote corrosion of steel reinforcement and can be sanded or ground back to existing structural contours. Cold temperatures may result in a slower curing rate. Mix by hand with a spatula or similar and avoid using electric stirrers or paddle mixers.
