How to Use

Stir thoroughly and apply one coat evenly by brush, roller or spray at 8-10 m2/LRemove all surface rust, loose and flaking or peeling paint and sand back the coating edges
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and all other surface contamination
Apply Omega Rustblock Rust Converter to rusted surfaces
Check the cross cut adhesion of any old coating before repainting
Apply a test sample for compatibility over a small test area
Prepare and coat section by section, coating immediately after preparation
Mix with a wide flat 25mm paddle or a hand paint mixer in a circular lifting motion from the bottom of the container for 5 minutes
Check the colour against the colour chart or standard before application
Thin with Omega Enamel Thinner only - no more than 3% for brush or roller, up to 10% for spray
Apply one coat evenly by brush, roller or spray, avoiding over-brushing and over-rolling
Do not apply when the surface temperature is below 10C or above 35C
Remix the paint every 2 hours to keep the product consistent
Allow at least 8 hours before applying the finishing product

Omega Rustblock Heavy Duty Metal Primer is a solvent-based, high performance anti-corrosive metal primer that forms a tough, flexible coating to resist corrosion. It is applied as one coat by brush, roller or spray over prepared metal at 8-10 m2 per litre, is touch dry in 1 hour and is recoated after 8 hours at 25C and 60% RH. The manufacturer specifies it for zincalume, galvanised iron, steel, wrought iron and structural steel, and as the base for Rustblock Epoxy Gloss Enamel and other Omega top coats. No Australian Standard performance classification is claimed for this primer and no accredited test report is published. Apply in calm fine weather and only during daylight hours, ceasing 2 hours before sunset. Use only Omega Enamel Thinner for dilution and cleaning. Check the cross cut adhesion of any old coating before repainting and apply a test sample over a small area for compatibility. Avoid exposure of the new paint film to steam for 48 hours and to washing or scrubbing for 7 days. Highly flammable liquid and vapour, Dangerous Goods Class 3, UN 1263, Packing Group III. Keep away from heat and flame, eliminate any source of ignition, soak used cloths and rags immediately in water to prevent self-ignition, provide adequate ventilation and keep out of reach of children.
