Key applications

  • Priming steel
  • Priming wrought iron
  • Priming structural steel
  • Zincalume and galvanised iron
  • Roofs
  • Wrought iron railings
  • Gutters and down pipes
  • General structural steel work
  • Base coat under Rustblock Epoxy Gloss Enamel and other Omega top coats

Surface suitability

  • Zincalume (clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and all other surface contamination)
  • Galvanised iron (clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and all other surface contamination)
  • Steel (all surface rust, loose and flaking paint removed and coating edges sanded back)
  • Wrought iron
  • Structural steel
  • Roofs, gutters and down pipes
  • Wrought iron railings
  • Rusted surfaces (treat with Omega Rustblock Rust Converter first)
  • Existing coatings (check the cross cut adhesion of the old coating before repainting)

Do not apply when the surface temperature is below 10C or above 35C. Do not apply in environments of high humidity or moisture, or if pending rain is a possibility. Apply in calm fine weather and only during daylight hours, ceasing 2 hours before sunset. Use only Omega Enamel Thinner for dilution and cleaning. Check the cross cut adhesion of any old coating before repainting and apply a test sample over a small area for compatibility. Avoid exposure of the new paint film to steam for 48 hours and to washing or scrubbing for 7 days. Highly flammable liquid and vapour, Dangerous Goods Class 3, UN 1263, Packing Group III. Why trade professionals choose Omega

Omega supplies paints and protective coatings to the Australian trade, including the Rustblock range for corroded and bare metal. The line we carry covers the metalwork side of a waterproofing job: rust treatment and anti-corrosive metal priming, plus PoolKote two pack epoxy pool paint for pool shells. It is a small, practical range chosen for the jobs where steel and water meet.
