How to Use

Mix 1:1 Part A to Part B and apply immediately by dual cartridge gun, injection, gravity feed or trowel into cracks and voids 3mm to 20mm wideConfirm the concrete is a minimum of 28 days old and that the substrate is clean, sound, completely dry and free of moisture in the crack or void
Remove all dirt, dust, laitance, curing compounds, oils, grease, wax, surface sealers and coatings by mechanical means, then vacuum thoroughly
Establish a roughened profile by rough-grinding, scarifying, bush hammering or equivalent mechanical preparation
Mechanically roughen smooth surfaces with a wire brush or abrasive paper
Where the product is bonding two surfaces, confirm both are sound and free of dust, dirt, grease, wax and oil
Pre-condition both components to 21C to 24C before mixing
Pour equal parts of Part A and Part B into a clean pail
Mix with a slow-speed mechanical mixer at 300 to 400 rpm using a helical or paddle blade
Mix continuously for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping the sides and base, until a uniform amber colour is achieved with no streaks
Mix only the quantity that can be placed within the working time for the prevailing site temperature and apply immediately
Inject or gravity-feed into cracks and voids 3mm to 20mm wide, ensuring the adhesive fully penetrates the void
Maintain a minimum adhesive depth of 12mm in gravity-feed repairs
For larger voids fill in successive layers to avoid air entrapment, and insert backer rod or sand where adhesive loss is a risk
For spall repair, cut around the spall into sound concrete, grind to a consistent 13mm to 16mm depth and never feather the edge
Press the mixed material firmly into the spall with a trowel or spatula, overfill slightly, then trowel smooth and flush
For anchoring, part-fill the cleaned hole, insert the bolt or dowel with a slow twisting motion and remove excess before it cures
Allow to cure fully before grinding, coating or loading - minimum cure 6 hours at 24C, anchors 24 to 48 hours
Clean tools with FORSPEC EPOXY CLEANER while the material is uncured and record batch numbers, temperatures and cure periods for the project quality records

Technical overview

PROBOND 1100 is a two-part, solvent-free structural epoxy paste adhesive with high strength and low modulus. It is used for crack and structural repair, for bonding freshly mixed concrete to hardened concrete on vertical and horizontal surfaces, for anchoring bolts and dowels, and as the specified adhesive for FORSPEC EXPANDOFLEX JOINT TAPE. It fills cracks and voids from 3mm to 20mm wide and develops bond strength to hardened concrete of 20.1 MPa at 14 days. No accredited certificate is currently held on file for PROBOND 1100 and all performance values are published as typical R&D characteristic values against their stated test method. The previous AS/NZS 4020 potable water claim is withheld pending certification.

Not for use in contact with potable water - the AS/NZS 4020 claim is withheld pending certification. Not a waterproofing membrane, it seals and bonds within a system and does not waterproof an area. Not for application to damp, wet or frosted substrates, or where moisture is present in the crack or void. Not for cracks narrower than 3mm. Not for new concrete less than 28 days old. Do not apply below 5C or above 35C substrate and ambient temperature. Do not dilute, extend, re-temper or add solvent under any circumstances. Do not leave the full mixed kit standing confined in the mixing container, the reaction is exothermic. Do not apply to the central flexible zone of FORSPEC EXPANDOFLEX JOINT TAPE. Not designed for structural load transfer across a movement joint. Discard mixed material that has begun to gel, it cannot be reworked. Both Part A and Part B are classified HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL and DANGEROUS GOODS, signal word DANGER - wear impermeable nitrile gloves, eye and face protection and long-sleeved clothing, ensure good airflow and read both Safety Data Sheets before use.
