How to Use

Inject into pre-drilled holes of 12 mm diameter or greater at approx. 10 to 12.5 cm spacing, pressing slowly while pulling the injection hose out so every hole fills completely.Remove old, damaged plasters, paints or coatings up to 80 cm above the visible damaged area or the area delimited through inspections
Press out masonry with larger voids, chamber stones, cracks or open joints with ASOCRET-BM before drilling
Scrape out crumbly masonry joints approx. 2 cm deep and clean the surfaces mechanically
Repair surface irregularities and masonry joints with THERMOPAL-GP11 or ASOCRET-M30
Set out the drill hole line in 1 row or 2 rows according to the absorbency of the masonry, tighter spacing giving greater certainty
Drill holes of 12 mm diameter or greater at approx. 10 to 12.5 cm spacing at 0 to 45 degrees inclination
Set the drilling angle so the holes cover at least one bed joint, and 2 or more bed joints in thicker masonry
Drill approx. 2 cm short of the masonry thickness for pressureless injection, or approx. 5 cm short for low pressure injection
On low or non absorbent substrates arrange the drill holes in two levels in the joint area with a height difference under 8 cm
Remove all drilling dust thoroughly so the masonry absorbs the maximum amount of active substance
Pressureless method: press AQUAFIN-i380 in slowly while pulling the injection hose out so each hole fills completely
Low pressure method: insert injection packers, then inject under 10 bar until the adjacent grout is filled to a matt shine
Remove the injection packers after low pressure injection
Backfill the drilled holes completely with ASOCRET-BM or seal them with suitable cement-based mortars

Technical overview

AQUAFIN-i380 is a ready to use, solvent free silane injection cream used to form a subsequent horizontal barrier against rising damp in masonry work. The cream is injected into pre-drilled holes either without pressure using a cartridge gun or by low pressure technique under 10 bar, where it saturates the pores and makes the capillary walls water repellent so capillary water transport stops. Schomburg states the material is tested and certified in accordance with WTA relevant guidelines up to 95% moisture penetration, based on WTA data sheet 4-10. No accredited test report number is quoted in the technical data sheet, and the remaining figures are published as product characteristic values.

Not suitable for hydrophobic action on alkaline surfaces such as concrete components. Protect surfaces that are not to be treated from the effects of AQUAFIN-i380. The renovation procedure follows WTA technical data sheet 4-10 and preliminary investigations such as moisture balance and salt analysis are generally required before injecting. Apply only at a substrate and application temperature from 5C to 30C. For wall thicknesses over 60 cm use double-sided injection or pressure injection. Inhalation of aerosol mists can be harmful to health and the product hydrolyses to form ethanol. Wear protective gloves of natural latex, polychloroprene or nitrile rubber, safety goggles to DIN EN 166 and protective work clothing. Keep out of the reach of children and do not allow the product to enter the sewer system.
